FrostBear adds a frozen polar-bear boss to Minecraft’s snowy regions, with a two-phase fight, frost-based combat, and rewards worth bringing home.
The FrostBear has 350 base health and an armoured front. Circle around its guard, use fire to melt its defences, or bait a charge into a wall to create an opening.
In its first phase, the bear attacks with claw combos, charges, sweeping frost breath, ground slams, and roars. At half health, it enters Heart of Winter, becoming faster and adding ice rings, marked leaps, and Glacial Cataclysm.
Watch the attack tells, move out of marked areas, and use solid cover when the bear begins channelling Cataclysm. Nearby players increase its health for group encounters.
Frost attacks build Frostbite stacks, slowing movement and eventually preventing sprinting. At five stacks, the target Shatters, taking damage before gaining a short period of protection against further stacks.
Campfires and other nearby heat sources gradually remove Frostbite, giving preparation a place in the fight.
Three advancements mark your journey from the first encounter to crafting Frostfang.
Explore snowy and icy biomes, investigate igloos for guardian encounters, or transform a polar bear by applying both Slowness and Weakness. A spawn egg is also available in Creative mode.
Available for Minecraft Java Edition 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3, with separate Fabric and NeoForge downloads.
