Welcome to Fantastic Fish: Reborn! Originally a faithful 1.12.2 port of the classic 1.7.10 "Fantastic Fish" mod, the project has now been completely rebuilt for Minecraft 1.20.1 (v2.0.0), preserving the classic oceanic experience while introducing a wealth of 1.20.1-exclusive creatures and gameplay expansions.
Classic Aquatic Life (1.12.2 & 1.20.1): Faithfully brings back all 23 classic marine species from the original mod—including various colorful fish, Great White Sharks, Bull Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Manta Rays, Swordfish, Lobsters, Crabs, Starfish, and Clams—along with naturally generating underwater Coral Reefs and Seagrass Forests.
15 Brand-New Creatures (1.20.1 Exclusive, not in 1.12.2): The 1.20.1 version exclusively introduces 15 new aquatic and semi-aquatic species! Ride saddled Capybaras along the shore, find egg-laying Ducks and shell-hiding Reeves' Turtles, or encounter hunger-driven predatory Gars alongside Carp, Bighead Carp, Grass Carp, Chum Salmon, Arapaima, Coconut Crabs, Swamp Eels, Loaches, River Shrimp, Chinese Mystery Snails, and Worms.
Worm-Bait Fishing & Catch-and-Release Nets (New in 1.20.1): Obtain Worms from dirt beneath grass blocks to use as bait in a reworked fishing system where fish actively bite, struggle, and get reeled in. You can also use Fishing Nets to scoop up live fish and bottom-dwellers—release them back into the water anytime, or smelt them whole in a furnace.
Coastal Coconut Trees & Fisherman Huts (New in 1.20.1): Coconut Trees now generate naturally along beaches, where tree-climbing Coconut Crabs roam and coconut wood can be crafted into a full set of wood blocks as well as sittable coconut wood chairs and tables. Additionally, a brand-new standalone structure—the Fisherman Hut—now generates in the world, where you can trade with the new Fisherman Villager for special items and exclusive fish banner patterns.
Diving Gear & Unique Items: Equip diving masks, snorkels/air tanks, wetsuits, flippers, or brass diving suits paired with an air compressor to explore the deep sea. The 1.20.1 version also expands your arsenal with Arapaima scale armor, four-color seashell armor sets, harpoons, and delicious recipes like sushi, shark fin soup, and various roasted meats.
