Draupnir – The Self-Multiplying Ring (Forge 1.20.1)
One true ring, countless echoes.
This mod adds Draupnir, a mythical ring that replicates itself over time — but only the one true ring can do that. Copies (echoes) stack and never replicate.
What it adds
Single True Ring (global): At any time there is exactly one true Draupnir in the world. It has a golden name (legendary look) and a subtle aura.
Self-Replication: The true ring periodically creates echo copies (stackable). By default: 8 echoes every 9 Minecraft days (Lore mode) or 1 per day (Gameplay mode).
Draupnir Altar: A ritual block used to imbue items with the Power of Draupnir. Place the ring and an imbuable item in the altar, then right-click with an empty hand to begin the 9-second ritual. The ring is consumed; the imbued item drops.
Craft the altar with endgame materials:
[Gold Block] [Ender Pearl] [Gold Block]
[Netherite Ingot] [Nether Star] [Netherite Ingot]
[Gold Block] [Ender Pearl] [Gold Block]
Bound Items: Items imbued with Draupnir slowly increase their stack size over time while in inventory. Only stackable items can be imbued. Imbued items vanish when dropped (by design).
Loot Rule: If a true ring exists, no loot source can generate another. If none exists, the first ring found becomes the true one.

FAQ
Where does Draupnir drop?
Very rarely in Ancient City chests (~0.5% chance) and from the Warden. No duplicates: if a true ring already exists, any additional entries are removed from loot. When none exists, the first one found becomes the true ring. Drops can be adjusted via datapack.
Why do only some rings replicate?
Only the ring with a golden name is the true Draupnir; others are echoes.
Can I drop the true ring?
Yes. The true ring persists when dropped and the world scanner will keep tracking it. Echo rings and imbued items vanish on drop.
What happens to the ring during the ritual?
It is consumed. The altar requires a real or echo ring; make sure you have spares before imbuing.
