well maybe a crafting, but you need to gat DIRT! (make a flatworld void, and you can go to the nether)
To get dirt, you need to go through all the stages backwards;
DIAMOND->EMREALD->GOLD->REDSTONE->USELESS ORE->IRON->STONE->WOOD->DIRT

oh you NEED polymorph, if you dont get it, emreald block will turn into SLIME!
