Delicious cellulose is an early game food alternative mod. Inspiration for this mod comes from the Great Depression and other famine eras.
Of course, having filler in your foods isn't exactly the healthiest. So occasionally, you might not feel well ;)
Upcoming: adds durability to rasp tool, item descriptions
Future: More foods, tools. Critters that were used for food (rats, bugs, etc)
(There are currently no plans to port this to Forge)

Rasp tool
Tree flour (shapeless)
(any Minecraft log will work)
Bread substitute: Restores 1.5 hunger
Mystery bread (shapeless): Restores 1 hunger
Mystery meat stew (shapeless): Restores 3 hunger
(any Minecraft veggies will work)
