Discover the natural beauty of Chile, one biome at a time!
Chile Biomas is a Minecraft mod project dedicated to bringing the extraordinary biodiversity and landscapes of Chile into the game.
Our goal is to recreate Chile's native ecosystems through unique vegetation, wildlife, natural materials, and immersive environments, while maintaining the familiar look and feel of Minecraft.
Sclerophyll Forest (Bosque Esclerófilo) is the first chapter of this project, inspired by the Mediterranean forests and landscapes of central Chile.
Discover characteristic trees from Chile's sclerophyll forests, each featuring its own appearance, foliage, and natural characteristics.
Quillay (Quillaja saponaria): An iconic Chilean tree with distinctive foliage and multiple natural shapes.
Espino (Vachellia caven): A thorny native tree that brings the character of Chilean dry woodlands into Minecraft.
Boldo (Peumus boldus): A native evergreen tree with dense foliage and unique wood textures.
Peumo (Cryptocarya alba): A characteristic tree of central Chile, known for its rich green canopy.
Native trees introduce custom wood types, building blocks, saplings, and crafting possibilities.
Explore vegetation inspired by the unique flora of central Chile:
Native wildflowers and grasses.
Characteristic shrubs and understory vegetation.
Forest soils, fallen leaves, and natural ground cover.
Decorative blocks and materials inspired by Chilean landscapes.
Every element is designed to give the forest its own identity while fitting naturally into Minecraft's visual style.
Encounter animals inspired by the native fauna of Chile, including:
Degu: A small rodent native to central Chile.
Chilla Fox: A South American fox that inhabits a variety of Chilean environments.
Wildlife is designed to complement the ecosystem and make exploration more immersive.
The Sclerophyll Forest features native vegetation, varied tree shapes, natural ground cover, and environmental details inspired by real Chilean landscapes.
The mod also introduces experimental ambient sounds to enhance the atmosphere of the forest. These sounds will continue to evolve in future updates.
This project is actively evolving!
Our long-term goal is to expand the Sclerophyll Forest into several distinct environments:
Dense Sclerophyll Forest: Shaded forests with dense native vegetation.
Espinal: Open woodlands dominated by thorny native trees.
Dry Sclerophyll Scrubland: Rocky landscapes with drought-resistant vegetation.
Flowering Grasslands: Open areas featuring native Chilean wildflowers.
Humid Sclerophyll Ravines: Sheltered environments with lush vegetation and greater humidity.
These environments will be gradually developed, improved, and introduced through future updates.
Mod Loader: NeoForge
Dependency: TerraBlender
Development Status: Beta / Active Development
Chile Biomas is an ongoing project. Expect new species, biome improvements, additional mechanics, and continued refinements as development progresses.
Our aim is to create an experience that feels like a natural extension of Minecraft while celebrating Chile's remarkable biodiversity.
Sclerophyll Forest is just the beginning.
Future Chile Biomas projects will explore other extraordinary Chilean ecosystems, from the Atacama Desert to the temperate rainforests and the landscapes of Patagonia.
Welcome to the forests of Chile! 🌳
