CaveStart changes the first-time spawn experience in Minecraft.
Instead of spawning at the normal world spawn on first join, a player is placed into a naturally generated underground cave near spawn. The mod does not dig, place blocks, or modify the world. It searches for a real cave that already exists, then moves the player there.
First join spawns the player in a natural underground cave
Sets that cave as the player’s respawn point
Gives a small one-time starter escape kit
Respects beds and normal spawn changes
Stops affecting the player once they choose a new spawn
Gradual fallback searching to avoid freezing
Does not place or break blocks
Stone Pickaxe
Torches
Bread
On a player’s first join in the Overworld, CaveStart searches for a safe cave near world spawn.
The cave must:
Be underground
Not be open to the sky
Have room for the player to stand safely
Have a solid floor
Avoid liquids
Avoid nearby lava
Prefer a real cave instead of a tiny air pocket
If a good cave is found, the player is moved there, the cave becomes their respawn point, and they receive a small starter kit.
If no cave is found right away, the mod keeps searching gradually over time so it does not freeze the game.
CaveStart respects normal Minecraft spawn rules.
If the player keeps using the cave spawn, they continue respawning there.
If the player sets a new spawn with a bed or another normal spawn change, CaveStart stops affecting that player permanently.
CaveStart is designed to be lightweight and compatibility-friendly.
It:
Does not place blocks
Does not dig tunnels
Does not modify terrain
Does not fight beds or manual spawn changes
It simply finds an existing cave and uses it as a better first spawn.
