What is this?

A Mod similar to the one I did for Skyrim. This is giving you a configurable amount of life's(default: 3) before it will treat your Survival game, like it is Hardcore. What happens then depends on if you're either playing Singleplayer, or on a Server. In Singleplayer you will be moved to Spectator mode, and all you can do is starting a new world. On a server, it will respawn you with your life's set to the initial value set in the config, but remove all your inventory content, and all of your experience/level. You can also get additional life's with every level up, postponing eternal death.

How's the formula for the life sum?

Initial life's + level - death's

Server compatibility?

Indeed, already said how it's working on a server.

How does it work?

To make it work, I had to enable the game rule "keep inventory", because that's the only "natural" way of keeping your experience level on dying. For a little extra difficulty I also turned of auto health regeneration. Both of the game rules can be turned off in the config. But carefully think about what will happen, if you do not keep your inventory/level on death. You will reach the end of your game much more early.

Any fancy stuff?

Yes, there are two icons displaying life and death to both sides of the level bar. See images and media.
