Description

Those new caves are pretty big, huh? This mod allows you to craft some simple Throwable Torches to assist in exploration!
Video Showcase:
How it works:
The Throwable Torches are easy to craft. It's the same as a regular torch, just with flint beneath the stick. Voila, you now have 4 Throwable Torches!

Of course, alternatively you can use a piece of charcoal in place of the coal, or even use existing torches.

From there you just right-click to throw them, and that's all there is to it!

If you really like the way the Torch Spike blocks look, you can craft them and use them as a decoration!

Other features:
- The Torch Spikes can stick to ceilings, unlike regular torches.
- The Throwable Torches can light mobs on fire for a short time.
This mod was created using MCreator. Tested by me and a few very supportive friends.
Questions:
Q: Will you update to version X?
A: In addition to setting aside the time required for it, MCreator must also be updated to that version. Unless I state otherwise on this page, I will try to keep the mod updated.
Q: Will you backport this?
A: I am going to look into backporting it to 1.18 and 1.18.1, but otherwise no. This mod was made with 1.18's new caves in mind. It would be pointless to backport it any further.
Q: Will you make a Fabric version?
A: At the moment I can't, HOWEVER it is a pretty simple mod, so if anybody out there wants to take a shot at recreating this mod for Fabric, I'd be happy to support it in any way I can. I'll even link to it here.
Q: Can you make underwater torches?
A: This is actually something I toyed around with during the creation of this mod. Unfortunately, any and all projectiles in Minecraft sink in fluids. I'd have to program my own projectile, and I'm not experienced enough for that yet.
Q: Can I feature this mod in my modpack?
A: Absolutely. Please do. Just be sure to link back here in some way. Credit where credit is due and all that.
Known issues:
- On occasion a Throwable Torch will land on the other side of a wall. This is something I'm working on.
- Currently, the Throwable Torch will only replace grass and snow on impact. It ignores most other plants. Again, this is something I'm looking into.
