MTM is a magic based mod for all the people who don't feel like using wands to only use magic.
in this mod the first thing you need to obtain is ether. all type of spells consume ether so make sure you have some in your inventory!
to gain ether you must create some ether bottles,
first you make the ether solution:
with that you make ether bottles:
and then use it right clicking in the air to collect ether. (ether is a gas solution, if used it will disappear and dissolve in air)
also with ether solution you can make magic slabs, with those you can craft spells incanalating their power to use it.
a crafting of a spell is simple,
just use the appropriate gem and put it like this in the crafting:
for other craftings you can always use JEI or others.

here i will say some things helpful for your playtrough
in this mod you can find flowers that spawn in the world, i won't say crafting recipies.
wearing full set armor and having lv5 spell of a elemental magic will give you some buffs, some armor just give you buffs on the biome you're in.
don't use fire spells near your buildings. you're not invincible wearing full set armor, it is still like diamond armor protection.
