About

Lumberworker is a simple mod that adds a new villager profession named Lumberworker and 1 new block, the Saw. The new Lumberworker villager will offer wood types from various biomes. The trades can be configured via a datapack, modifying the lumberworker:tradeable_logs and lumberworker:tradeable_saplings item tags. The Lumberworker's workstation is the new Saw block. The Saw can harvest logs placed adjacent to it. This will result in a more resourceful harvest of logs to planks, with the output being 6 planks per log. You can have the Saw not convert the logs into planks by providing a redstone signal. Additionally, you can push the Saw with pistons, which can be useful for automation. The blocks that the Saw can harvest can also be configured via a datapack, by modifying the lumberworker:sawable_logs block tag.

The Saw and Lumberworker only spawn in Taiga Villages (replacing the Taiga Mason). The Saw, however, can be crafted with 6 Smooth Stone and 3 Iron Ingots.

Example of Saw Tree Harvester mod compatibility

Requires the Tree Harvester mod to be installed and also requires the Saw to be powered with a redstone signal of 15. This compatibility can be disabled with the treeHarvesterCompat gamerule, which is enabled by default.
