The leader zombie mod is here, now you don't have dumb regular zombies anymore and you can now see a smart leader zombie having an army of up to 16 dumb zombies. Leader zombies runs way faster and they don't raise their arms unlike normal zombies. Baby leader zombies run way faster than a normal baby zombie. Thankfully, leader zombies can't break doors, even on hard difficulty, but its army can still break doors if you are on hard mode. Leader zombies have twice the health of a normal zombie and have a lot of resistance, however, player/entity attacks that are melee are its major weakness. Ascending leader zombie variants are slower but stronger.
Differences by Design: Leader zombies have different poses than normal zombie and leader zombies have the same player poses while normal zombies will keep their original zombie pose. This way you can determine if you see a leader zombie or normal zombie.
Zombie Sieges?: Even though it's not a real zombie siege, it can turn into one if a leader zombie spawns near a village and proceeds to enter to the village, in which, they'll try to attack the villagers and iron golems.
How Rare?: A leader zombie has a low spawn rate to prevent excessive lag and too much difficulty, but when one does spawn it'll have a huge army of up to 16 zombies.
How to combat?: Do not attack the normal zombies since they are very slow, however, the leader zombie runs very fast and will catch up to you fast, you are probably dead if you have no weapons, no armors, or no shield. Ascending zombie versions will be slower but stronger and the strongest zombie leader variant which is zombie admiral is in fact slower than the normal zombies but deals a very huge damage!
How to skip/avoid?: If you want to avoid it in the first place, I recommend building a base and sleeping on the bed to skip the night.
What happens after killing a leader zombie?: The leader zombie will drop good loot of essentials and the recipes of spawning the wither or The Wither Storm from the Cracker's Wither Storm mod.
