BioCristals

BioCristals is a mod that aims to support the player through the game with an end goal focused on agriculture. The mod begins with supporting your exploration of the world, aiding you in creating the best home possible, and continues your journey from settlement to killing the dragon in the end. At the current moment the mod is only focused on exploration and the beginning of agriculture. I hope that the mod will over time blossom from creativity and community feedback. Features

• Research book: The book is bound to you. You can give it to others to show them your progress. You can also "favorite" recipes, and while holding the book in a crafting gui you can see your favorited recipes. There is also some lore inside the book. This book has some small GUI conflicts with NEI, so try to only use one at a time (Research gui only shows if you hold the book and press 'o' to disable/enable NEI).
• Nest: After you are done exploring and, instead, need the insects to help you in your base progression, the nest will do just that. Each insect has a different function when inserted into the nest. For example, the WSB will attack mobs and the Croot Beetle will fertilize plants (acts like automated bonemeal)!
• Croot Breeder: As you settle down, it can become a pain to run around collecting bugs. With this block you can breed the insects you have and create new insects through cross-breeding.
• Croot Beetle: This insect is the central crafting resource in the beginning, and are collected by breaking grass. Collect a lot of these as they are needed to catch other bugs.
• Nomads Sack: By holding the sack in your hand it will suck up items. There is a filter that can be found in the config file, but natively the sack will never take food or tools. Empty the sack by shift+right click on a chest. As a standard it can take up to 2500 items (NOT STACKS).
• Croot Stick: This item will let you start harvesting different bugs that will help you in your exploration. Some bug harvesting will consume Croot Beetles.
• Kraken bug: These bugs are harvested from leaves and taste super yummy! Just eat and be happy :)
• Water Shielded Beetle: Otheriwse known as WSB, they are harvested from grass and used as a early game throwing weapon, causing about 1 heart in damage.
• Croot Claw: This device helps you move over annoying obstacles during your exploration. It lets you teleport to any block you can right click on. Warning: it will make you really hungry... Can be found on cactuses.
• Hivebag: Harvested from reeds/sugar canes, these will help you smelt items when you are running around. Though a small warning; it will make you hungry from time to time.
• Fruit Spider: This bug is only gained from breeding and when placed in a nest it will help you harvest grown crops.
• Void Crawler: This bug will, for a price, reveal nearby ores by phasing out blocks of low value.
• Chitin armor: Better than iron armor, but worse enchanting. Good beginner armor.
• Config file: In the config file you can find the filter for the nomads sack, damage for Water Shielded Beetle, change recipes and much more.
• The Hunger: A new power system for the mod that is based around food. You don't have to worry about cables for transporting around energy between blocks as everything happens in another dimension. There is a tutorial inside the book after you have unlocked the Hunger Portal.

Upcoming feature

Create a world, jump in creative mode, check the creative tab for the mod and you will find a lot of stuff that I'm working on at the moment.

Be a bit careful though as I'm working on that stuff and not everything is stable. So use it at your own risk. (These items and blocks can only be accessed in creative mode).
