The Spawn Egg Wand is a magical tool that lets you capture mobs and turn them into spawn eggs. Simply right-click any mob with the wand to make it vanish and drop its spawn egg, which you can then pick up and use to respawn it wherever you like. The wand has 256 uses in survival mode, consuming one charge per capture, and will display a message if you try to capture a mob that cannot be turned into a spawn egg, such as the Ender Dragon or Wither.
