A chill reimagining of Rats — a port to Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge) focused on a cozy rat settlement and automation with adorable pets.

Based on Rats (AlexThe666). Required: Citadel. Recommended: JEI, Jade, Create, Farmer's Delight.
There is no official Rats for 1.21.1 — yet many players still want their favorite rats on the latest version. Rats Reborn fills that gap and gives your playthrough a new purpose: you can build a settlement of smart, adorable rat helpers right on your base.
The idea is simple:
Hire cute little tails to work at your Create factory, feed them cheese, and breed the prettiest, strongest, and most affectionate rats.
The classic Rats framework is preserved: wild rats, upgrades, the cheese staff, breeding, and professions.
Each rat has its own multipliers for health, speed, armor, damage, and size. When breeding, offspring inherit parents’ genes; mutations and coat color changes are possible. Upgrades are now obtained by crossbreeding rats.
Cheese is not just bait — it’s pay for work: up to 4 pieces per day give full work speed and regeneration; when hungry, rats look for cheese in their personal stash, the feeder, or from nearby rats owned by the same player. No starvation death — only a gentle nudge to keep the colony fed.
A dedicated block for sleep, shelter, and respawn (one minute at the entrance after death). 16 colors, one rat per house, climbable sides, tooltips in Jade. Not the same as the cheese staff work anchor.
By default, rats sleep during the day (ticks 4000–8000) and work in the morning, evening, and at night. The config can switch to “night rats.” Rats sleep in their houses; during work hours they go to their job site and work according to their profession.
Health, damage, hunger, time of day, home and work coordinates. First and last names without name tags, plus a random cute name button that respects gender.
Chef upgrade: stove, cooking pot, cutting board, skillet — with a dish whitelist, ingredient pickup, and a chest for finished food.
Speed-boost pipes, auto curdler, cage and breeding, dozens of upgrades (farmer, lumberjack that won’t break player-placed logs, quarry, milker, hauler, crafting rat, and more). The “Work” command is one button for any profession via upgrades.
