Description

Introduction

Malum is a Magic Mod centered around Spirit Arcana; paracausal energy derived from the soul. Using Arcana the player will explore everything the mod's Encyclopedia - a strange journal written by an unknown author, imprinted onto the world itself - has to offer.

The Encyclopedia will grant you knowledge covering every aspect of the mod. The book is very open ended, allowing any order of progression with little restrictions.

Natural Wonders

Spirit Arcana is not a natural part of the world, but sometimes the two do intersect. One example of this are Runewood Trees, formed with trace amounts of Infernal and Raw Arcana, fitted with bark perfectly suited for magic and a complete set of building blocks.

During Research you may find a good few new ores found within the world. Cthonic Gold, Soulstone, Brilliance, Natural Quartz, and more.

Spirit Magics

Functioning as the main conduit for utilizing Spirit Arcana, Spirit Infusion is a magical process that fuses paracausal with physical. Spirit Arcana is the study of Miracles, and Spirit Infusion is just the first step.

Another Major Aspect of Spirit Arcana are Totems. To affect the world, Spirit Runes are etched onto Runewood. Paired with a Totem Base and a totem forms. Each Valid Combination of Spirits yields a different effect.

After enough experimenation and careless use of magic, it is no wonder that Blight came to be. It is a state of matter derived from the most chaotic application of Arcana. It is Entropy, but it is harmless ultimately.

Through Spirit Focusing with the use of an Impetus we can utilize Spirit Arcana to create physical matter. Perfect for spending a surplus of Spirit Crystals.
