This mod adds a 'recipe' (definition of recipe defined by Google: "a set of instructions for preparing a particular dish, including a list of the ingredients required.") that adds a Sulfur item and Sulfur block that can be generated in your world.
The recipe uses sulfur to make gunpowder. as follows: 
The sulfur block is generated at Y levels -15 to -35 and looks like deepslate and gold but weird:
The sulfur block can NOT be mined with anything under a stone pickaxe.
This is my mod and feel free to use it in your mods (idk why you would want to)
