Imagine you live in the tropics, eating fruits to your heart's desire. You make smoothies and fruit salads, peacefully annihilating the local banana population. And then, you find some sulfur. You experiment with it, finding that you can make batteries! Although they are not a great fuel, (Why would you burn batteries in the first place? Do you want to die?) they are necessary for electric tools and power armor.
In this update, we now have two music discs - one of which is meant to spread communism

which can charge all of your stuff now. Yippee! Additionally, we have made electric boats.
Lastly, the Bunker has been created!
Palm trees are amazing! They give wood, leaves, and coconuts. They appear in several biomes that both do and don't make sense. (Imagine finding a palm tree in the desert. Totally makes sense.) Coconuts can also be used as a weapon now because why not. Also, they have a very satisfying sound effect. All default wooden items can be crafted with palm wood.
All you need to know: it drops sulfur shards, it doesn't feel good on your toes, and you can make batteries out of it. Oh yeah, mining it with a hammer gives you sulfur powder directly.
Use the hammer to mine sulfur ore without needing to smelt the sulfur shards into powder, as you get the powder instantly. Who knew the solution to burning less coal was Stone Age technology?
Batteries make a terrible fuel (What have your parents told you about burning batteries?), smell interesting, but are needed for all electrical items. Electric Tools are faster than normal tools and mine a bigger area. Also, the Charging Station allows you to use them infinitely! Power Armor gives you special effects that can save your life! And lastly, Electric Boats move faster than regular boats.
Sushi! Rice pudding! Mats! All of these can be made with the rice plant! A major food source, kind of annoying to grow, rice is essential for any self-respecting foodie. The banana bush is another food source. It spawns way too often, but who cares when you get bananas!? Also: milkshakes.
Fruit salads, smoothies, sushi, and more! What else could you ask for? (Not accepting answers to question.)
