Description

Adds the ability to mount entities by right-clicking them if you have a Riding Glove.
Entities in water cannot be mounted.

it's like Easy Rider for Forge except for fabric and the ride mechanic with fabric Easy Rider requires the glove...

The Riding Glove item is marked as Legendary even though it only requires one piece of Leather and one Feather to craft by default, this way it can be better integrated into loot if you wish to remove the recipe, the item itself was made in photoshop and took approximately 18 minutes to create, it's certainly nothing special and i fully expect people to create their own to replace it.
Internally it's called "glove" and there is a texture called "riding_glove" which was the very first placeholder texture created, that texture too bout 60 seconds to create as you can see for yourself if you wish to unarchive the jar.
If you don't but would still like to replace to glove texture its location is assets>easy_rider_fabric>textures>items>glove.png
and it's an indexed png.
Having it indexed means you may need to first unlock the layer if you wish to edit it, more likely you would need to first set it to RGB, to do this in photoshop you need to choose Image>Mode>RGB Color unless you're using a language which isn't the en_us equivalent.
The image canvas is 16x16 and the pixels reach 14 horizontally and 15 vertically, it's comprised of 93 shades of brown ranging from #857578 to #2d1815. Those values represented in rgb format are 133,117,120 and 45,24,21 and CMYK is 48,51,44,10 and 57,73,70,77.

I created this mod with mcreator and to be used with the Moancraft modpack, it was created friday the 15th of february 2022 at around 3pm gmt.
The premise was initially to allow minimised player to mount chickens, i was going to add more creatures for "minimised" players to mount and look into enabling steering them too but after several hours testing and speaking to people it became apparent that this was unlikely.
Idk why underwater creatures cannot be mounted but if you need lore then they're just too wet to handle.
In the forge version of easy rider players can (and will) mount absolutely any entity afaik (the description states "left-click" but i'm pretty sure it's a "right-click" action), this includes item frames and dragon fire balls or whatever those things are called.
Back to the subject at hand though, this version as it is has a few other caveats to consider, two i can think of right now:
Mounting an enderman is fine but when they teleport you'll become visually unmounted, you will still teleport with them but you'll appear to fall through their bodies as if being dismounted.
Players mounting players is fine for travel but the player "carrying" may not see they're carrying the other player as there is some syncing issue that i'm going to just call a feature here. That player will apparently seem to be located where they mounted the other player until they dismount... could be useful..

The Riding Glove item only needs to be in the inventory make the mounting ability active, it isn't integrated with curios or trinkets so cannot be placed into those slots if you have those available and it likely never will be. this is already more complicate than intended.
If you have the glove and wish to trade with a villager there is not override feature, you will end up sitting on their face but you should also open the trade gui. Consider this when setting up a trading hall if that's something you think you're likely to do, it shouldn't impact too much by default as the hitbox is still only calculated for the entity being ridden.
And why did i call it Easy Rider and not Easy Mounter if you cannot steer the things?
I do still intend to have the direction/jumping function added one day tho initially i found this improbably difficult.
Easy Rider is the name of a quite well known movie, at least much more well known than Easy Mounter.

Some Entities (modded) do not have their mounted position "naturally" situated directly on their back so you'll more likely appear to be floating over them by a few inches as they're likely not intended to be mountable this probably shouldn't be considered an issue of the mod author adding the models, i'd like to be able to offset this one day to at least fit the entities better for moancraft.
The Wither can be mounted with limited success sometimes a player is able to survive this for a lot long than you may expect as most of the player damaging projectiles simply seem to not engage at such close range.
The Ender Dragon though it can be mounted does seem to not like this behaviour very much possibly causing some massive screen tearing z-fighting poly-mashing rotating effect, last time i tried this i couldn't not dismount and had to kill it with /kill @e[type=ender_dragon].

How to Install

Download Forge & Java

Download Forge from the offical Site or here. If you dont have Java installed then install it now from here. After Downloading Forge you can run the file with Java.

Prepare

Lounch Minecraft and select your Forge istallation as Version this will create a Folder called Mods.

Add Mods

Type Win+R and type %appdata% and open the .minecraft Folder. There will you find your Folder called Mods. Place all Mods you want to play in this Folder

Enjoy

You are now Ready. Re-start your Game and start Playing.
