This mod was developed for my Bachelor’s Final Year Project. It’s still unfinished and is currently in Beta, as not all the intended functionalities have been implemented yet.
This mod is an adaptation of the world of of the zombies mode of the game “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War”. In this game, players are thrust into a world infected by dimensional anomalies, which lead to a dimension called the Dark Aether. This dimension is a twisted mirror dimension of our own world, a toxic wasteland where monsters roam freely. This dimension is filled with a powerful element called Aetherium, which manifests in the form of crystalline structures.
The mechanics currently added to the game are the following:
- New Structures: a new type of structure, called Experimentation Facilities can be found throughout the Overworld, and is inside these facilities where players can access the new dimension after reactivating the portal.
- New Dimension: the Dark Aether is a hostile environment filled with brand-new monsters and materials. Be sure to be prepared and fully equipped when venturing into this hostile wasteland.
- New Monsters: the monster currently in the mod are:
- Dark Aether Zombie: Pretty similar to your normal Minecraft zombie, only faster and stronger.
- Screamer: A fast enemy that gives away their position by constantly screaming and once in close proximity to the player explodes.
- Mimic: A creature that can transform into blocks and surprise attack the player once it gets too close to it.
- Tempest: A teletransporting enemy that uses ranged attacks
- New Material: the Aether crystals that are harvested from the Dark Aether can be refined and used to craft tools, weapons, and armor.
- New Corruption mechanic: though the Dark Aether is contained in its own dimension, portals may occasionally appear throughout the world that, if not taken care of, will gradually infect the world, corrupting it and turning it into an undead wasteland
