A Create add-on about building the supply chain nobody wants next door.
Illicit Factory adds a drug production pipeline onto Create. You dig up a handful of new ores, run them through the machines you already know: Millstones, Mixers, Presses, Encased Fans, etc... and turn raw rock into finished product. Do it by hand in a grimy little shack, or go full cartel and automate the entire line end to end. That part's up to you.
Note: This mod is a work in progress. New products will be added over time. Recipes, effects, and balance are subject to change.
Right now, everything funnels into three tiers of product. Same idea, escalating effort and payoff.
The base line. Solid speed and a strength kick, but it comes with the shakes: expect some nausea and hunger on the side. Cheap to run once your ore supply is going, and the thing you'll be cranking out by the stack.
Purer, stronger, no downsides. Better speed, better strength, and a haste buff on top. Making it means diverting your line through a rare blue catalyst and cranking the heat way up. These can also be sold for quite a bit more to villagers for a bigger payout.
Takes finished Blue and re-forges it with an obsidian dust and lava mixture. You get everything Blue gives you plus a resistance buff.
Each tier can be bagged into a baggy (5 doses at once) for a longer, one-level-stronger hit, and packed into a storage block so a chest full of product doesn't eat your whole inventory.
Nothing drops ready-made. You build up to it.
Four new ores spawn underground, each in stone and deepslate flavors:
| Ore | Gives you | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Halite | Salt (+ Rock Salt) | the backbone reagent, in nearly everything |
| Sulfur | Sulfur Powder | acid |
| Phosphorite | Raw Phosphorus | the reactive core of the precursor |
| Azurite | Azure Catalyst | the rare key to the Blue line |
Salt is renewable even without mining - boil a Basin of water over a Blaze Burner and you'll cook it right out.
This is where Create earns its keep:
Every dose stacks a hidden Overdose effect on you, and it's cumulative - keep chaining hits and it climbs, I through VI. A baggy jumps it up by three at once.
Levels I to III do nothing but sit there as a warning. Hit Overdose IV and it turns lethal - your body starts taking wither-style damage every second, and it only gets worse the higher you push it. An unchecked binge will kill you.
And no, milk won't save you. Once you're overdosing you either ride it out or you don't. Chase the high carefully.
There's a market for what you make. Every villager profession has a chance to become a buyer once they level up - a Journeyman might quietly start fencing your product, and an Expert gets a second shot at it. What they'll pay depends on what you're offering: a couple of crystals go for pocket change, but hand over a baggy of Blue and watch the emeralds pile up.
You never know which villager is dirty until you check their trades.
This is an early release and a work in progress. The chains, effects, and balance are all still being tuned, and there's more of the underworld to build out. Feedback and bug reports are welcome.
Known good against: NeoForge 21.1.228, Create 6.0.10.
This is a video game mod about a fictional cartoon crime economy. The "recipes" here are abstract Create machine steps built out of made-up items - Halite, Azure Catalyst, Precursor Solution, all of it invented. Nothing in this mod describes, resembles, or teaches anything real. It's Breaking Bad by way of cogs and belts. Keep it in Minecraft. This mod in no way encourages or condones any illegal drug use or production in real life. If you don't like the theme, don't play it. If you do, enjoy responsibly and keep it in the game!
