Q: Where are the armor pieces?
A: The original RedPower gems never had armor, Project Red at one point might have though.
Q: What levels are the gems best found at?
A: Anywhere really from levels 48 down to -64. So find a cave and you should be good.
Q: Can I use your mod in modpacks?
A: Yes, I encourage. All the gems and blocks should*** be tagged correctly to be picked up by mods that use #c:tags.
Q: Can I disable some ores or change some of the stats of the tools?
A: While I don't have a config, the ores are possibly disableable via KubeJS, maybe the tool stats as well. PropertyModifier is also another mod that can change tool stats.
Q: Can I make addons for this mod?
A: Yes.
A: These tools have 768 durability compared to 250 for Iron and 1561 for Diamond. The rest of the stats should be identical to Diamond except can't mine obsidian or higher and more enchantable than Diamond (Iron's enchantability), so be sure to enchant with these!
