MinecraftHeads - The Most Useful Head Lookup & Generation Tool

MinecraftHeads is a unique head generation plugin that addresses two main issues that arise when storing player head by username while also creating a clean organized user interface. This plugin downloads an updated list of heads via an updatable Google spreadsheet, indexes them into categories, and allows users to select and search for their desired heads. Inspired by the subreddit /r/MinecraftHeads, this plugin keeps track of whether or not heads are "safe" (an indicator of its possiblity to change in the future).

Problems and Our Solutions

1. Player heads are subject to change at any time
2. In order to add more heads, the plugin author must release a plugin update

• Our Solution: Mark heads that are guaranteed to stay the same as [SAFE]
• Our Solution: Fetch head data from an updatable Google spreadsheet

Installation

• Configure permissions according to the nodes listed below
• Put plugin jar file into plugins directory and restart server
• Fetch the latest heads by using the /mcheads download command

Commands

• Aliases: /mch, /head
• /mcheads list - List all head categories
• /mcheads list <category> - List all heads in category*
• /mcheads <key> [qty] - Spawn heads by name or block id*
• /mcheads [player] [qty] - Spawn heads by username (Omit username to get your own head)
• /mcheads download - Download the latest spreadsheet and load it into memory
• /mcheads removeunsafe - Removes all unsafe heads from file
• /mcheads reload - Reloads plugin
• *Note: Tab Completion is supported

Permission Nodes

• mcheads.list - Allows access to all list commands
• mcheads.get - Allows access to spawning heads
• mcheads.download - Allows access to downloading new heads
• mcheads.removeunsafe - Allows access to removing unsafe heads
• mcheads.reload - Allows access to reloading plugin
• Note: Server operators have access to all commands

How is this plugin different?

1. Our head spreadsheet is constantly updated and can be downloaded in-game without updating the plugin or restarting your server
2. You can use your own custom head spreadsheet
3. You can submit suggestions to be incorporated into the plugin via a form
4. You can report heads that aren't working via a form
5. Blocks and items are searchable by id
6. Tab completion is supported for various commands
7. Heads are organized into searchable categories
8. All Heads are marked safe/unsafe
9. The head title shows the head type instead of the username so that you know what you are holding without placing it
