This Is A Mod That Adds A Bear Trap To The Game

Just Find At Least 9 Iron Ore In The World. Then Smelt It Into Iron Ingots. Craft One Iron Ingot Into 9 Iron Nuggets. Use 3 Iron Ingots and 2 Iron Nuggets To Craft A Bear Trap Part. Craft At Least A Total Of 2 Bear Trap Parts. Then Use 2 Ingots To Craft A Weighted Pressure Plate. Then Combine All 3 Crafted Parts Into One To Make A Bear Trap.

'Dev Log Update', For - | 8/4/2023 | - "The 9,000 Downloads Dev Log Update"


Special Update Note From The Creator Of This Mod -  As of about the start of "August 2023", This mod has recently gotten a lot of sudden downloads & attention. As of lately, this mod is now getting about 300 - 400 downloads a day. Before this, it was getting only a dozen or so downloads a day. This mod was earning only about 4 cents a day, or about 0.80 points a day. But due to recent interest in this mod, it has now started gaining 2 points a day, aka, 10 cents a day, then a few days later, 3 points a day, aka, about 15 cents a day, and now, just today as of writing this, it reached the earning of 4 points a day, aka, 20 cents a day. This is huge, for this is the first time I've ever reached 2 points, 3 points, and now 4 points for a mod to earn for daily revenue. This is also my first mod ever getting such a consistent amount of several hundred downloads a day too as well. And it's slowly increasing my income that I earn daily. So, I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone suddenly gaining interest in my Bear Trap Mod. And now, because of this sudden interest in this mod, I'd like to make some plans for this mod's development & plans for the future. So I'll now go into detail and give some info on future plans and other things for this mod project.

Future Plans & More
For Zaynen's Bear Trap Mod - I've always planned to and wanted to add additional features to this mod. I've never been able to get around to developing further on this mod like I wanted too, I'm often distracted by developing other projects. But now since this mod is suddenly generating a lot more revenue for me, it is helping me out with earning an income from mod making for me suddenly, it's an encouraging incentive to come back to this mod and develop more on it like I wanted too do some time ago, because now I know other people want this mod, I'm literally seeing statistics of hundreds of people downloading this mod daily, this is the first time I'm seeing this much interest in a mod project of mine. And since people are showing a lot of interest in the mod, and because this mod just became my biggest mod within the past week and some days. It's giving me incentive, encouragement, motivation, purpose, reason, and all of that jazz~
SO!
The several ideas and plans that I've wanted to do & develop for this mod is now going to come back into the focus of my mind. Here are some of the several ideas I want to develop for this mod, expanding it's features. I've been wanting to look into setting the means to place food as a luring mechanic for specific animates, to act as a kind of trap for creatures. Such as Carrots for Pigs & Bunnies, Wheat for Sheep & Cows, various seeds for Chickens, Fish for Ocelots & So On. Also, I want to look into a means of a small storage system for the bear trap possible, so that way items don't get lost if something is killed when stepped on. I've also wanted means to try look into method of adding camouflage to the trap. Such as adding different colored dyes to the trap to make it different colors to try and make it blend into surroundings more. On top of that, I've also wanted to add foliage to the trap, things like Grass, Vines, Ferns, or even things like a layer of Snow or Dirt or Sand or the like to try and hide a layer of the trap over a thing layer of the environment's material. Also, I've wanted to look into the means of  adding in potion effects such as instant damage, instant damage 2, and poison & poison 2 onto the bear trap, to apply more methods of choice to a trap. I also thought about the means of making a Clamp Trap, where it deals no damage, but instead clamps onto the legs of the character and freezes them in place. I also want to look into a better method of trapping entities, currently its an automatic potion effect system, I like elements of the potion effect to various extents, but I now have better ideas and I want to change the system and improve it to make it better, so I want to look into a better method where one has to brake out of the trap instead of a odd potion mechanic I made. So I want to fix that an improve upon it, making it to where one has to press shift multiple times while in a bear trap to struggle free and brake out of it. There's a lot to code and develop here. All of the rainbow colored bear traps from the dyes, all of the states of it in it's foliage states and dirt states and all of the combinations of it that I'll have to create & code in, the food luring animal systems, the new clamp trap to nonlethally capture creatures, poison and instant damage potion applications. Loads of ideas to add upon and improve this mod greatly. On top of that, this mod is currently only available for 1.16.5 & 1.18.2, So I'd like to look into trying to make this future planned variation of the mod to be available for as many versions as possible. Thank you all for your interest & support. I'm going to start development on remaking this mod from scratch

List Of Future Planned Features For Zaynen's Bear Trap Mod

- Recreate The Beartrap From Scratch, Making it so that it has a procedure to target the closest player within the radius of the trap that activated it, and to keep the entity stuck in the trap when the trap is triggered, instead of the odd potion effect method that lasts for a few seconds and slowly goes away on it's own. Furthermore, look into a method of braking out of the bear trap to be able to move, instead of the automatic moving potion procedure system simulating the method. Have it so that spamming shift helps brake out of it. A special idea to make half a heart, aka, 1 point of damage, be taken instead if the player decides to try and jump, to add in simulation of panic and for players who don't know how to brake out of bear traps or for players who do know, but accidentally do it in a panic to take the point of damage.
- Look into adding in the Clamp Trap, where it's just like the bear trap, but it removes all methods of being able to take damage whatsoever, even when jumping in a panic when struggling to get out. Also develop the brake out method.
- Make the trap brake when broken out of by a player, or look into a percentage change of the braking to happen, and have a temporary unaffected state of the trap take hold for a few seconds, giving a window of opportunity to brake out of the bear trap or clamp trap equivalent. If the breaking of the trap is decoded upon being coded in, then look into the means of scavenging the broken traps and a method to scrap them for metal, or a means to repair them.
- Look into adding the ability to dye the bear trap any of the 16 colorations of dye in Minecraft to help with camouflaging.
- Look into allowing the bear trap to be placed in water, thus allowing it to be waterlogged (I don't know if it already it, its been a while, got to check, but just a good note regardless)
- Look into additional camouflage methods, such as getting sheard grass to use as green grassy foliage, also have ferns work for this visual camo state too. Also look into adding the ability to add in a layer of snow on the bear trap, as well as a layer of dirt, sand, gravel, netherack, ect., to try and help hide the bear trap farther in a respective environment.
- Look into methods of adding a poison or harming potion to the bear trap to allow a 1 time use of poison damage or instant damage to be applied to the target. Look into possible also doing poison 2 and instant damage 2
- Look into adding the ability to put baits into traps to lure in various creatures in Minecraft. Carrots for Rabbits and Pigs, Fish for Ocelots, Wheat for Sheeps & Cows, Various types of seeds for Chickens, Ect~
- Look into expanding the mod to as many versions as possible, if possible. Typically for versions 1.12.2, 1.14.4, 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2 &1.19.4, As well as potential future versions, like 1.20 versions & so forth.

I will be trying to look into adding in these features as time goes on. It'll likely take a few months or so to develop. So please "bear" with me as i look into trying to develop these features and greatly improve the mod. Thank you for the show of interest. It was great incentive to motivate me to work on this mod again and add these better in depth features I wanted to initial add to the mod, I'll be working on a massive update to this mod that will revamp and change it to make it much better. Thank you for showing interest to what the mod currently is now, I'll look into implementing these features as soon as I possibly can. Thank you for everything. I'll try to be back in a month or few or so from now with an update to this project with something much better for everyone to enjoy~

Aka, Within 1 - 3 Months From Now, Hopefully We Can Expect A Major Revamping Update To This Mod Project Within The Month Of Either September, October Or November. Hopefully by this time, I can get all of these features implemented.

How to Install

Download Forge & Java

Download Forge from the offical Site or here. If you dont have Java installed then install it now from here. After Downloading Forge you can run the file with Java.

Prepare

Lounch Minecraft and select your Forge istallation as Version this will create a Folder called Mods.

Add Mods

Type Win+R and type %appdata% and open the .minecraft Folder. There will you find your Folder called Mods. Place all Mods you want to play in this Folder
