Description

# Welcome to XMod Additions! This mod adds in a number of useful items and features to help improve the quality and extensiveness of the game. Think of this as a sort of "Vanilla+" mod.

This mod adds in a total of 218 mod elements, including over 80 new recipes, a new dimension, a handful of new mobs, new armor, swords and other tools and combat items, as well as additional items that may aid you on your journey. let's take a look at all of them together :)

  • *Quick note that this mod has been created utilizing MCreator, a wonderful tool for making Minecraft mods!

# Anyways, on with the mod showcase!

# When starting with this mod, we're going to first take a look at the most broad parts, then narrow down into the individual parts. Firstly we take a look at the new dimension: The Aether!

Yes indeed the Aether is a strange and wonderful place, filled with weird biomes, landscapes and supernatural creatures...

This dimension is mostly quiet, and doesn't feature a ton of crazy mobs. It has wolves, snow and iron golems, chickens, sheep (maybe ;) ), and a new mob [that we'll get into later]. Really, this dimension is a great late-game exploration into a new, strange world that would suit perfectly for an amazing base.

This is the portal, made up of quartz blocks and ignited using a very special igniter indeed. Notice the water particle effects and the vacant foggy void that seems to beckon you in (I suppose).

# And that concludes the brief look into the biome. Hopefully as more categories are explained, all will be revealed and more of this will appeal :).

# Ah, biomes. Don't we just love them? Anyway now we take a look into some lovely biomes and see their new glory. We'll start off with the two overworld biomes before moving into some fun, funky-fresh ones from the land up-over :)

This is the Charred biome, which spawns commonly next to desert biomes. It's withered bushes and dark atmosphere combined with the perpetually-tinged sky give off a definite burnt feel, as do the mobs that appear as well... Regardless this biome stands out next to the lightly-colored desert and offers a fun experience for those who dare.

Welcome to the bushlands, a more land-based swamp-like area, if you will. Trees here are all rotted away, and offer less usability than traditional ones by comparison. It's atmosphere is certainly foreboding, but to be warned that the longer you stay...

The more the trees decay. As you can see it was sped up previously, so don't expect overnight change (that would have caused a few fires in more sluggish PCs, such as mine XD).

# So that's it for the Overworld biomes; onto the rest!

Each of these next biomes falls into the Aether dimension, so pay attention of you wish to find a new place to settle :). The first on this list is the AetherSky biome, a lovely, if slightly-disorienting, biome made up of glass and quartz. Blue skies, clear water, and nearly zero trees make this a tantalizing spot for finding resources, especially given the transparent nature of the ground.

This is the AetherBeach biome, filled with lovely soul-sucking trees that light up the night and some nice change of color in the form of the ground, which is made up of end stone and sponge.

# The AetherMountains is also a lovely biome, but we feel that it is so lovely that you should find it yourself ;)

The AetherTundra is a definite standout amidst the other biomes for it's blackened grass, dead from the corruption of a sole plant infestation: mooncakes...

Ah, what the Nether used to look like. Yes, this biome is aptly named "NetherHeyday", and here we can see just how beautiful the Nether once was. This biome is actually natural to the Aether (unlike the Tundra), and serves as a constant reminder to what once was. The screenshots to not do it justice, you simply must roam it yourself to see why it is personally my favorite new biome from the mod ;)

And now the Aether equivalent to the Charred biome in the Overworld and the standard biome for the dimension, the AetherPlateau. Here the light and airy trees coupled with the cloud-like pillowiness of the snow does make for quite the excellent experience to walk through.

#Now all the biomes are covered. Exciting isn't it?

# Mobs in this mod are admittedly few and far between as far as new ones go, but that is because so many mods cram new creatures into the world without giving them a chance to stand on their own two feet, so for this there are just two:

The Charred biome gives spawn to these poor souls: Burnt. These mobs are not too difficult to kill, and often kill themselves trying to get after you, but they do offer a look into the last vestiges of the creatures who once walked these lands before you. Approach with caution, but do have a laugh once they start their "chasing ritual".

Angels are quite the unusual specimens. Once upon a time they were docile creatures, but the corruption that has taken place, clearly shown on their fractured bodies, has caused them to madden and deprave, so much so that their attack patterns do not often make much sense, and neither do their weapon choices. Be wary of them and take caution not to get too close.

# Well that was short. Anyways time to move on!

# As we move onto deeper and deeper parts of the mod, I feel the need to tell you less and less about it XD. So here I will simply show you the items' recipes, a few screenshots, and some hints as to what they do...

Fun ore blocks and the like. Wonder what they are used for?

Some lovely devious blocks. Handle with care...

Sorry, did I say devious earlier, because these are evil by comparison. Advice: Be very VERY careful about where you place that red block on the far left.
