Weather Addons
Weather Addons is a overhaul of Minecraft's weather. Vanilla's flat 2D rain is gone — every drop, flake and splash is a real volumetric particle in the world.
🌧️ Rain
- Volumetric 3D raindrops that fall through the world and land exactly where you see them
- 3D splash particles bursting at the impact point, on ground and water
- Raindrops blur on your screen and trickle down like on a camera lens
❄️ Snow
- 3D snowflakes that spin and sway as they fall
- Flakes gently melt on the ground and splash when landing on water
- Frost builds up on your screen while snow falls on you
🌨️ Blizzard (thunderstorm in a snowy biome)
- Dense, wind-blown snow with drifting wind direction
- Heavily reduced visibility with a white haze that fades in and out smoothly
- Camera shivering from the cold and movement slowdown in the open
- Freezing (powder snow style) — unless you wear at least one piece of armor
🔥 Heatwave (thunderstorm in a hot, dry biome)
- Warm shimmering screen edges
- Sweat dripping down your screen
- Movement slowdown under the open sky
- Hunger drains ~2x faster — no potion effect icon (singleplayer)
⚡ Performance
Built for zero FPS impact: distance-based LOD particles, a hard particle budget shared by all weather types, physics only near the camera, cached lighting and heightmap lookups.
