Description

Welcome to the Polluted. This is a dead world made primarily out of The Muck family of blocks. Explore this nuclear wasteland in the current 8 biomes with diversity and variety.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Biomes

Polluted Wasteland

This is the default biome, similar to the nether wastes or a plains biome. Made out of Regular old muck, It may look very empty, but this is one of the more content rich areas in the dimension. It is the only biome where Sludges can spawn. it is also the biome with the most sludges. This biome is the only place where Suspicious Muck can spawn, for all of you archaeology fans.

Polluted Barrens

These are very similar to the Wastelands, as they are made of Regular Muck, but they lack suspicious muck, they're the safest biome for you to live in, and no annoying noises or particles. it is the only way in the entire dimension where you can obtain one of two ores, Zinc. this is also the most mountainous biome in the polluted. No mobs can spawn here.

Fossile Remnants

This biome is made of Fossilized Muck. These usually flat biomes are extremely common, next to the wastelands. They spawn with about double the fossils then soul sand valleys, and the occasional skulls. and they are the only place to obtain Non-Toxic Acid and Toxic Acid. Toxic Sludges Spawn Here.

Charred Meadow

This is an ashy biome filled with Charred Muck and Gravel. On the surface there isnt much, but Decontaminate around / Hollow out some of the pillaring Scorched Slate Spikes and youll eventually find an Obsidian Geode for Spessartite, or Hematite. No Mobs Spawn Here.

Decayed Forest

The Decayed Forest is a mostly flat landscape made of dried muck, which sprawling out of the dried muck are the creepy crawly Decayed Trees, Which come with their own wood type. Trace Fossils are found deep within the ground in this biome. Sludges Spawn here.

Frigid Pedi-Plains

The snow biome for the polluted, these biomes are made of Grunged Snow, and the giant icicles of Frozen Muck that differ in shape and size. Grunged snow may allow you to obtain MuckBalls, and when frozen muck and Grunged snow are mixed, you can make accelerant Ice. Frozen Sludges Spawn Here.

Pumic Pedi-plains

The most dangerous biome in the polluted (in my opinion). This volcanic area is made of Molten muck, a great fuel source. Scattered around are the occasional Pumic Basalt (Be careful when mining them, they contain lava!), decorative molten rocks, and lava guisers. Id be careful around this biome, its a bit hot. Some of the floor is made of actual plasma. Molten Sludges Spawn Here.

Polluted Oceans

These separate the various islands. they are extremely similar to overworld oceans but they are made of Liquified Muck.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mobs

Zoglin - These arent my mob, but they spawn in polluted wastelands.

Sludge Family - This is a slime like mob family that has adapted to jump high to treverse the wild generation of the polluted and the sticky muck that lies here. as said before, they are very good at adapting to their environment, as sludges can be seen blending in and utilizing their environment for their advantage.

Sludge - Native to the Polluted Wastelands, these little pests are mini mutated muck blocks. they split up like regular slimes, but they stay the same size to decieve you. They Attack with melee if you get too close although they can also spit muck at you. although, they arent the best at aiming. Out of all the sludges, they do the most knockback.

Frozen Sludge - Native to Frigid Pedi-Plains, This is the most inaccurate sludge, Doing little damage and no knockback. when getting hit by a frozen sludge, you will be trapped in capsule ice, immobilizing you for 3 seconds. dont get too close to a frozen sludge. They will drop Capsule ice when killed, so you can trap your friends. You will one hit this mob.

Toxic Sludge - These Sludges, Native to the Fossil Remnants, are very inaccurate. but they are one of the more dangerous sludges. When they spit their acid at you, it will inflict extreme poison, nausea, and hunger for 5 seconds, but only doing 1 direct damage. when killed, they will leak toxic acid, so be careful.

Molten Sludge - Native to the Pumic Pedi-Plains, The Molten Sludge is the Fiercest Sludge, and one of (if not the most dangerous) sludge. They are the most accurate of sludges, do the most damage, and they set you on fire. if you aim for the volcano at the top of their head, they will be slightly weakened for a second.

Stumplit family - This civilization thrives off of the recourses in the polluted, they are hunters and merchants. they hunt sludges and some have been known to fear humans and will try their hardest to run and hide from them, the Stumplit family does not take kindly to illagers. they come in three classes, Knight, Archer, Merchant.

Stumplit Knight - Venturing out very Rarely in the polluted, and very commonly in the Stumplit Homeland Structure, these bipedal shroomie guys are the melee class for the stumplit civilization, Wearing a suit of beige-ish worn down spessartite armor with bandages, this class typically has green eyes. Knights occasionally will run from humans, but they will attack humans if provoked.

Stumplit Archer - Spawning Rarely in the polluted, and very commonly in the Stumplit Homeland Structure, these bow wielding mushrooms are the ranged class for the stumplit civilization, Wearing a beige shirt and they are commonly seen with Light Blue Eyes. and they will keep their distance humans, but they will attack humans if provoked.

Stumplit Merchant - Spawning Only in the Stumplit Homeland Structure, these are the only stumplits that are not scared of humans. their pockets are full of zinc, which will not drop upon death but will spawn shiny particles around it and make shiny noises. you can tempt them with zinc, and they will take it and barter a random item that they get from their hunts in return. they are the only way to obtain totem pieces. These Stumplits Are often seen following people with zinc ingots in hand, in an attempt to trade. These Stumplits wear Zinc Shoulder Plates and have been noted to have Purple Eyes.

Polluted Ringworm

This is a Parasitic Mob, which will spread quickly if you do interfere too much. This mob will drop loose ringworms upon death, which can interact with many blocks, and if they lay their eggs in Sinkhole muck, it will become infested soon after if not broken. these mobs are found in Infested Wreckage, and Infested Homestead Structures.

-------------

Pet Mobs

Blossoming Sludge (Nasturtium)

When obtained, you can feed this mob the colored Cinnibars found in the Primeval Tower Structure, and this can also be used to farm nasturtium petals if fed neutrient muck.

Blossoming Sludge (Morning Glory)

When obtained, this sludge will fight every zombie and skeleton variant, as well as phantoms and creepers. these sludges are afraid of wardens heartbeat, and they are the most dedicated to their prey.

Blossoming Sludge (Marigold)

When obtained, These see the farthest away, and shoot the farthest as well. They will heal mobs that attack them as pacifists. they will automatically target to heal humans with extreme accuracy and speed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Special Info about blocks:

Muck is so sticky that you cannot jump a full block on it. I suggest using liquified muck or non-toxic acid to travel, because they allow you to jump a full block unlike regular water.

Molten Muck can be used as a furnace fuel, and it fuels about double the amount of coal.

Pumic Basalt Drops coal blocks, although they most likely burn due to the lava trapped inside of the Pumic Basalt.

Plasma Muck isnt fully solid, and will damage you upon stepping on it.

Non-Toxic Acid cannot be swam in like water, but it flows faster then any other liquid, you can breath in it, it will not damage you, and you swim extremely fast. You barely sink when wearing Depth Strider Boots.

Toxic acid will have the same effects as a toxic sludge, with poison, nausea, and hunger.

Liquified Muck is Extremely Dangerous. Getting trapped in flowing liquified muck is no joke, and it is extremely dense and thick, as well as hard to see in. Id advise to make a boat, but thats pretty hard in the polluted.

Accelerant ice builds up momentum the more you run on it, making it a great elytra launcher. although, with each step cracks the ice. Accelerant ice is Repaired with accelerant ice shards.

Scorched Slate can be used to make cobblestone if crafted in a 2x2 grid.

Thinned Obsidian Geodes can be broken in a smithing table with a heavy pick, or decontaminated for another reward.

Crumbling Primeval Bricks will fall below you, be careful.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Muck Excavating

Crafting A Zinc Claw with 2 copper and 2 zinc will allow you to excavate Suspicious Muck. This is only possible in the Polluted Wastelands, and you cannot pick up Suspicious Muck, like minecraft archaeology.

Loot table below:
Decayed Log, Planks, Trapdoor, Door

Muck Chunk

Nothing

Dead Bush

Bonemeal

Clay Ball

Suspicious Stew

Muck Bricks

Pointed Muck

Structures

Primeval Tower

This Greenish Moldy tower is a naturally dangerous one, the structure is so old and weak that it is Crumbling with every footstep, be careful not to fall in the acid, and watch out for any suspicious cracks on the floor. this structure spawns in every biome and contains Suspicious Pegmatite, which gives access to Cinnibars! On the top, you will find chests with various Polluted Gems.

Homestead

These are small cabins commonly spread throughout the polluted and provide wood, and building materials.

Infested Homestead

These are also small cabins, but infested with Ringworm, be careful!

Infested Wreckage

Found laying on flat land of the Fossil Remnant biomes only, these structures are one of the biggest in the polluted, but not too big. These Structures spawn with Sinkhole muck that is CRAWLING with ringworm. Go around and Decontaminate or break the blocks and find the various chests found around. This is one of the only ways to get Slush Chunks, and Hematite Relics.

Prehistoric Ice Hollow

These Structures are scattered around the Frigid Pediplains biome only. They will have chunks of frozen muck, and occasionally Prehistoric Ice. Break these blocks to either receive Treasure, or be met with a dangerous Foe, so Consider bringing armor. These are the only places in the polluted where Copper, Accelerant Ice Shards, Iron, and Rewind Beams are found.

Rewind Portal Site

The Rarest Structure in the polluted, generating usually buried, barely visible to the surface. these structures spawn with pillars of decayed logs, shacks, and of course, a rewind portal. which when lit with an alluminum lighter, is the only way to exit the polluted. Rewind Portal blocks can be moved.

Stumplit Homeland

This structure is hidden, so look out for any oddly shaped/square terrain. These structures are home to the stumplits, and have the following rooms:

Nursery - Has a hematite totem but cannot be mined.

Armory - Has Acids and a full set of emergency zinc armor, as well as loads of zinc blocks and a hematite hammer.

Freezer - Covered in frozen muck, you can obtain accelerant ice and loads of food that is stored deeply within the ice.

Furnace - Containing plasma and molten muck, which is a great alternative fuel, and also wood and zinc.

Treasure Hall - Located farther from the rest, these halls have piles of spessartite, zinc, and a chest with hematite. Stumplits often guard this area.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recources

Zinc

Zinc is a win/lose. the armor is kind of mid, but the tools are about as efficient as gold, but with more durability. It can also be used to make Zinc claws. Zinc is only obtainable in the Polluted Barrens Biome, and will spawn most commonly at the ocean floor. Zinc is also the currency for the stumplit civilization.

Malachite

Malachite is an archaeology exclusive that allows you to make the following weapons:
Malachite Dagger (Low damage, high speed, cheap.)

Malachite Longsword (Cheap, made in smithing table with zinc sword, built in fire aspect but worse, high damage, slow speed)

Malachite Staff (Same stats as a netherite axe, but with sweeping edge and sword enchantments, Very Expensive)

Malachite Trident (Ranged, Fueled with Redstone charges, kind of expensive.)

Malachite can refuel Hematite Totems.

Spessartite

Spessartite is exclusive to Obsidian geodes, found in the Charred Meadow biome. Mine an obsidian geode (trust me, it takes awhile.), take the thinned geode, and break it with a heavy pick in a smithing table. a heavy pick is crafted with one iron nugget and one pointed dripstone in a crafting table. Once you do this, you will get a spessartite piece. combine nine spessartite pieces to get a Spessartite Ingot, which can upgrade diamond armor, craft a block of spessarite, or make a Decontaminator. Spessartite can also be used to make trace molds.

Spessartite Armor:

Equal Protection to netherite

No Knockback Resistance

Immune to effects: Poison, Wither, Mining Fatigue

No Fall damage

Too heavy to preform critical strikes.

Hematite

Obtained through Decontamination, this can craft the following items:
Hematite Hammer
Hematite Totem

Hematite Hammers have extreme efficiency and damage, but only having 10 durability.

Hematite Totems can be fueled with Malachite Shards, and when right clicked by a player, it grants 10 seconds of pure immortality.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Decontaminator

This watering can like item has its own unique functionality in the polluted, crafted with one spessartite ingot, 3 zinc ingots, and a glass block.

The Decontaminator Purifies, or Cleans, the various blocks in The Polluted, sometimes the blocks will drop a helpful item!

Decontaminated Blocks listed below:

Muck -> Mud

Fossilized Muck -> Stone (Drops a Contaminated Bone Shard)

Charred Muck -> Gravel (Drops Charred Fragment)

Grunged Snow -> Snow (Drops a Muck Ball)

Frozen Muck -> Blue Ice

Molten Muck -> Magma Block

Dried Muck -> Farmland

Obsidian Geode -> Obsidian (Drops a Hematite Relic)

Infested Muck -> (Decontaminates and kills all ringworm)

The Decontaminator Requires fuel though. You can use it three times until its empty, but refueling is quite easy. simply take a step into Non-Toxic acid to collect its fuel. Dont worry, it wont get rid of the acid.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Polluted Gardening

I know you mod viewers like decorative plants. i see the mods you download, and the mob vote 2023. So ive added various flowers without ruining the theme.

The Following Seeds can be found in suspicious muck:
Marigold Seeds

Nasturtium Seeds

Morning Glory Seeds

Plant The Seeds in Dried Muck.

Morning Glories Takes the shortest time to join. going straight from seeds to blossoming in 3000 game ticks.

Marigolds Dont take much longer, going from seeded, to rooted, to blossoming in 4000 game ticks.

Nasturtiums take the longest, going from seeded, to rooted, to blooming, to blossoming in 6000 game ticks.

Marigolds can be used as regular flowers, or crafted into a Marigold Bush for even more decor.

Morning Glories can be used as small flooring flowers or crafted into morning glory vines which operate like trapdoors.

Nasturtiums Can be used as a decorative flower or you can take the petals off, being a decent food source that rewards you with regen with every flower you eat.

You can use these flowers to tame sludges into Blossoming Sludges, which each flower having their respected variant.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do i get to the polluted?

You must obtain an Echo shard to get an achievement i have added which will give you the recipe to the Forward Clock.

When you have this item, right click it once for it to activate. It will start glowing and it will give you one warning: YOU WILL BE TRAPPED! the only ways to exit the polluted are through rewind portals, and death.

You must Craft an alluminum lighter, crafted with various polluted items, once you craft this, find a rewind portal Structure and light the portal. You will return to the overworld.

Alternatively, you can take the easier route of crafting a rewind clock, although only you can leave.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
