TFC/Create Chain Compat

TFC Create Chain Compatibility is a lightweight compatibility mod that seamlessly integrates TerraFirmaCraft (TFC) chain types with Create's conveyor belt system. Using mixins to modify Create's code without altering core files, this mod lets TFC players enhance their automation setups with stylistically consistent chain conveyors.

Features

TFC chain integration

• Use every TerraFirmaCraft metal/chain/* item on Create chain conveyors for placement, connection, and riding
• Conveyors render the correct TFC metal chain texture for the installed type
• Breaking a configured conveyor drops the matching TFC chain, not minecraft:chain
• Right-click a conveyor with a chain item to swap its metal type in-world (consumes one chain in survival)

Rotational power transfer

• Full Create chain conveyor behavior is preserved — entities ride links, spans connect across gaps, and rotational logistics work exactly as vanilla Create intended
• TFC chains are treated as first-class connection items instead of forcing vanilla iron chain

Now in color

• Dye conveyor lanes to mark routes at a glance
• Set a primary color with a dye, then Shift + dye for a secondary stripe
• Apply a second dye to blend colors; Shift + empty hand clears lane colors
• Optional glow tiers with glowstone dust (bright) or glow ink sac (emissive) on dyed rows Metal tier connection reach
• Stronger metals span farther — copper for short hops, blue/red steel for the longest configured spans
• Reach follows TFC anvil metal tiers out of the box and is fully tunable in config/tfccreatechaincompt-common.toml Quality-of-life tools
• Tape Measure — measure block distances while planning conveyor runs (Tools & Utilities tab)

Multiplayer-safe

• Chain type, lane colors, and glow state sync to all clients for correct rendering

How to use

1. Install Create, TerraFirmaCraft, and this mod on NeoForge 1.21.1
2. Build chain conveyors as usual
3. When connecting spans, hold the TFC chain item you want — reach limits follow that metal's tier
4. Optionally right-click an existing conveyor with a chain to retexture it, or use dyes to color lanes

Default tier reach (blocks)

Reach is by anvil tier, not per chain name. TFC has nine chain metals; bronzes share Tier II, blue/red steel share Tier VI.

Vanilla minecraft:chain defaults to 38 blocks (configurable). The shortest limit among held chain, source conveyor, and target conveyor wins.

Compatibility

This mod is designed for the latest TerraFirmaCraft and Create releases on Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge. It bridges realistic metalworking progression with Create's technological logistics — no Fabric build; TFC and Create do not target Fabric on 1.21.1.
