Survival Utilities v1.11 for Minecraft 1.12.2

Survival Utilities is a mod that aims to add items, tools, blocks and enchantments that should be in Vanilla Minecraft. It adds a wide range of content, such as an auto-smelting enchantment (Searing), player tracking through footprints and gathering mob heads with the Beheading Enchant then wearing them, and being safe from that mob type, as well as a range of specialised tools and weapons. The Recipes are below, and I've made video tutorials - I would strongly recommend watching (at least a bit) the most recent so you know what everything does. Enjoy! -aardvark

*As of 17/05/21, this project's development is now complete... enjoy the finished product, it's been a while in the making!

Retrospective

As of 17/05/21, the mod is finally finished, as of v1.11. It's been in development since September 2019 and by now contains 73 unique textures, 225 json data files, and 98 java files, most of which consists of awful code I copy pasted from stack overflow, or similar sites. When I begin this project, I knew approximately zero java and had never fully completed a coding project - this mod taught me java (not that the code is any evidence of that) and has given me hours of fun and crippling agony to develop. The vision to begin with was a mod that improved the survival experience without stepping too far away from vanilla, and for the most part I think it was successful. Hopefully, you as players can agree with that.

I'd like to thank a few people for help throughout the whole development process: jakeVentura13, for spontaneously DM-ing me with some new textures, BlackBlank_1973 for providing some Japanese translations (though I'm not sure I've been able to keep them going with much accuracy), Zonko and his discord for helping find a few bugs, and any of the Youtubers who made showcases... and of course all of you guys, for playing!

The mod is at a state now, which I am happy with. I've added quite a lot of varied (ish) content for the final update, to which my only advice would be to read the changelogs (since I'm not making any more explanation videos) and to definitely use JEI. You will suffer without it.

Here's a list of the releases (honestly, I'm surprised we got this far):

-Survival Utilities 1.3

-Survival Utilities 1.4: The Building Update

-Survival Utilities 1.5: The Combat & Trappers Update

-Survival Utilities 1.5.2: The Accident Update

-Survival Utilities 1.6: The Farming Update

-Survival Utilities 1.6.1: The Other Accident Update

-Survival Utilities 1.6.5: The Little Things Update

-Survival Utilities 1.7: The Prints & Compat Update

-Survival Utilities 1.8: The Baits, Beats and Bug Fix Update

-Survival Utilities 1.8.4: The Textures Update

-Survival Utilities 1.9: The Config & Balancing Update

-Survival Utilities 1.9.4: The Hunter's Update

-Survival Utilities 1.9.5: The Other Other Accident Update

-Survival Utilities 1.10: The Big Update

-Survival Utilities 1.10.5: The Bottled Update

-Survival Utilities 1.11: A Sappy Goodbye

I still develop other mods (sometimes) - check my profile for a full list, or just take a look at Phytomining, here (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/phytomining). 1.12.2 is kinda obsolete now so new things I make will be for more modern versions. Regardless, I hope you enjoy them.

One last thing I'd like to mention, is this screenshot of part of the code for this mod. To clarify, that comment has been there for nearly two years.

I guess it's staying there forever now. This project is definitely irredeemable.
