Description

Simple Ores Blocks

SimpleOres is a Forge mod that adds 5(4) new ores to the base game: Copper (previous to 1.17), Tin, Mythril, Adamantium and Onyx. All except Onyx can be found in the overworld, while Onyx can be found only in the Nether.

Simple Ores Armors Each ore has its own unique properties, armor and tool sets, and more.

Simple Ores for 1.19 has datapack-driven ore generation. It is no longer controlled by config file parameters. If you wish to change the ore generation, there is a sample datapack "simpleores_oregen.zip" uploaded to the SimpleOres Resources project. Download it, edit it to suit, and load into your world save's datapack directory as described here.

Simple Ores for 1.17.1 and later does not add copper ore or ingots to the game, as vanilla has added them. However, since vanilla did not add copper tools or armor, Simple Ores still has them. As of 1.18.2, the copper bucket picks up all normal liquids, but melts if used to pick up lava or other super-heated fluids. Simple Ores ores now drop raw metal, like vanilla ores, except for onyx ore, which drops the gem, of course.

As of Simple Ores 1.17.1-3.0.1.1, the SimpleOres-relevant content from Aesthetics has been rolled into Simple Ores. (E.g., copper bars and doors, mythril, tin, adamantium and onyx bars, doors, bricks, and brick stairs. In addition, metal brick slabs have been added to round out the metal brick blocks and stairs. Copper brick items, however, were phased out, as they have been superseded by vanilla cut copper blocks, stairs, and slabs.

SimpleOres for Minecraft 1.20.1 and later requires SimpleCoreLib AND BucketLib
SimpleOres for Minecraft 1.16.3 and later does require SimpleCoreLib
SimpleOres for Minecraft 1.14 through 1.16.1 does not require the SimpleCore API.

The original Minecraft Forum thread is here. The original mod was by AleXndrTheGr8st, aka Skrallexy. Sinhika is the current off-and-on maintainer. The current code is licensed under LGPL 3.0, so go wild, modpack makers!

Older versions (1.12.2 and earlier) require a support library, SimpleCore API

Add-ons and Compatible Mods:

Note: only the core SimpleOres mods and akkamaddi's Arsenic and Lace have been or will be ported to MinecraftForge 1.17.1. The rest will be ported straight to 1.18.1, without bothering with a 1.17.1 version.

Maintenance Policy

  • The latest version will be actively-maintained until I publish ports of the next version. Previous minor recent versions that no one uses--such as where Mojang jumped minor versions with emergency bug fixes--will not be maintained, since you are advised to update your Mojang version anyway. (e.g, 1.20 to 1.20.1).
  • Truly disastrous bugs (it crashes your game and causes bees to eat your ores or something) in the last major version will be fixed if possible. I will not maintain ancient versions such as 1.12.2; I may not even have complete source code for even older versions.
  • Name conflicts with mod newer than SimpleOres mods are Not My Problem; bug the other mod developer to fix the name conflict. (I will consider future exceptions for SimleOres mods with stupidly generic names, such as 'Fusion'. e.g., 'Machines' was already fixed to have the modid 'simple_machines' and may be changed again to reduce potential conflicts).

Texture Packs

  • SimpleOres Resources - original textures for Fusion and SimpleOres, and Thombias' full texture pack of revised textures for Fusion and SimpleOres.

Data Packs

  • SimpleOres Datapacks - ore generation datapack templates for customizing world generation of ores in Minecraft 1.19 and later versions.
