Description
This mod is very simple: it adds gravel versions of vanilla and various modded ores that spawn in your world, as a means of gathering such resources without long mining trips. Ores will only register themselves or generate if they exist in other mods -- for example, Tin Gravel Ore will only spawn if you have another mod that adds tin.

Dependency
As of 1.20.1, this mod is written entirely using JSON! It depends on Json Things for registering the ore blocks, and vanilla data packs for all other features.
Configurable
The mod is also quite configurable. In 1.12 and earlier, you can use the config file to change ore pile size, ore pile frequency, blacklist certain ores from generating, and modify the generation weights of different ores. In 1.20.1+, you can configure the ores directly using datapacks!
Currently supported ores
Vanilla
- Copper, Iron, Gold
- Diamond, Emerald, Quartz
- Coal, Redstone, Lapis
Modded (1.20.1+)
Due to the timing when tags load, all compat on 1.20.1+ is dependant on specific mods being loaded rather than any mod adding the tag. If you wish to suggest additional compat, open an issue.
- Aluminum (Immersive Engineering)
- Cobalt (Tinkers' Construct)
- Lead (Embers, Immersive Engineering, Thermal, Mekanism)
- Nickel (Immersive Engineering, Thermal)
- Osmium (Mekanism)
- Silver (Embers, Immersive Engineering, Thermal)
- Tin (Thermal, Mekanism)
- Uranium (Immersive Engineering, Mekanism)
- Zinc (Create)
Due to the way loot tables work, if you have an ore supported by multiple mods, it will randomly choose a raw ore from one of those mods each time you break the block. If you prefer a specific raw ore dropping, you can replace the item tag gravelores:ore_drops/[variant]
, where [variant]
is the ore name such as tin
.
More ores can also be added using data packs and thing packs.
Modded (1.11-1.12)
- Aluminum, Copper, Nickel, Lead, Silver, Tin
In addition, more ores can be added using the config file (1.12)
