Redstone Dirt

Description

 

 

1.18.1 version now available in beta form

 

This mod adds 4 main blocks:

- Redstone DIrt

- Powered Redstone DIrt
- Redstone Dirt Detector

- Redstone Grass

 

There are also path/farmland variants of the above blocks

 

Now the question is why would you want these? Well take a look at some things you can build with them

 

Redstone Dirt:

 

Carries a redstone signal just like redstone dust

Can be right-clicked with a hoe to convert into Redstone Farmland

 

Powered Redstone Dirt:

 

Constantly outputs a strong redstone signal (like a Redstone Block combined with a Redstone Torch, but plantable)

Can be right-clicked with a hoe to convert into Powered Redstone Farmland

note: this signal is strong, like putting a repeater into a block. This is useful for detecting tree growth with repeaters, but watch out for quasi-connectivity

 

Redstone Dirt Detector:

 

 

When a sapling is planted on top, it outputs a redstone signal with power = 1 + growth stage (ex: for vanilla saplings, this is power levels 1 - 2 for stages 0 - 1)

When the sapling grows, it outputs a strong redstone signal with power = 15

note: this signal is strong, like putting a repeater into a block. This is useful for detecting tree growth with repeaters, but watch out for quasi-connectivity

 

Can be right-clicked with a hoe to convert into Redstone Farmland Detector

When a crop is planted on top, it outputs a redstone signal with power = 1 + growth stage (ex: for wheat this is power levels 1 - 8 for stages 0 - 7)

When a crop is fully grown,  it outputs a redstone signal with power = 15

 

Redstone Grass (beta):

 

 

(note: randomTickSpeed increased to 200 for this video) 

 

Same as Redstone Dirt, but the grass variant

Obtain by spreading normal Minecraft Grass or Redstone Grass to an adjacent Redstone Dirt Block (random ticks)

Can be picked up with Silk Touch

Can be right-clicked with a shovel to convert into a Redstone Grass Path block or with a hoe to convert into Redstone Farmland

 

I am not happy with the uniformity in the grass, so I will likely be updating the textures once I am sure everything else works okay

How to Install
