Tools:
Darkstone Tools (Pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, and sword): darkstone tools are a group of tools that are stronger than stone but not quite as strong as iron. They are crafted in the same shape as regular tools (replacing the normal tool material with darkstone, of course). However, instead of sticks, darkstone tools must be crafted with dark sticks. Darkstone tools have a high enchantability.
Darksteel Tools (Pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, and sword): darksteel tools are a group of tools that are stronger than diamond, although just barely. They are crafted in the same shape as regular tools (replacing the normal tool material with darksteel ingots, of course). However, instead of sticks, darkstone tools must be crafted with dark sticks. Darksteel tools have a high enchantability.
Dark Gem Tools (Pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, and sword): dark gem tools are a group of tools that are significantly stronger than diamond, making them the strongest tools in the game. They are crafted in the same shape as regular tools (replacing the normal tool material with dark gems, of course). However, instead of sticks, darkstone tools must be crafted with dark sticks. Dark Gem tools have a high enchantability.
Darkness Infused Tools (Pickaxe, axe, shovel, and sword): The strongest of tools, Darkness Infused Tools not only have the same statistics as Dark Gem tools, but also give an effect to the wielder. The sword gives strength, while all other tools give haste. Currently, only the Darkness Infused Dark Gem Sword is craftable, although crafting for other tools will be added in a future update. The sword is crafted by putting eight Dark Shards and a Dark Gem Sword anywhere in a crafting table.
Armor:
Darkstone Armor: Darkstone armor is a group of armor that, when fully equipped, gives the player 5½ armor shirts, making it slightly less protective than iron. It is crafted in the same manner as normal armor (replacing the normal tool material with darkstone, of course). Darkstone armor has a high enchantability.
Darksteel Armor: Darksteel armor is a group of armor that, when fully equipped, gives the player 9 armor shirts, making it slightly less protective than diamond. It is crafted in the same manner as normal armor (replacing the normal tool material with darksteel ingots, of course). Darksteel armor has a high enchantability.
Dark Gem Armor: Darkstone armor is a group of armor that, when fully equipped, gives the player 10 armor shirts. Dark Gem armor is stronger than diamond, making it the strongest armor in the game. It is crafted in the same manner as normal armor (replacing the normal tool material with dark gems, of course). Dark Gem armor has a high enchantability, and wearing a full set of it gives the player the regeneration effect.
Mobs:
Phantom: An Enderman-like mob that spawns in most biomes. Stronger, smarter, and faster than an Enderman, this mob should only be engaged if one is wearing iron armor or better. On death, the Phantom has a chance of dropping a block of Darkstone, a Dark Shard, and a Raw Dark Bone.
Arthrak: a spider-like mob that spawns in most biomes. Stronger, smarter, and faster than a spider, this mob should only be engaged if one is wearing chain-mail armor or better. On death, the Arthrak has a chance of dropping a block of Darkstone and a Raw Dark Bone.
Shadow: a wolf-like mob that spawns in most biomes. The shadow is smarter and faster than a wolf, and can be tamed with either a Cooked Dark Bone or a normal bone. On death, the Arthrak has a chance of dropping a block of Darkstone and a Raw Dark Bone.
Biomes:
Dark Biome: this biome, which will only spawn if the world type is set to "Origins of Darkness", is composed of a top layer of Darkstone, a filler layer of blocks of Dark Dust, and a mining layer of stone. This biome is rare, and a good source of Darkstone as well as Dark Dust.
