Description

-MobsWhyNot-

MobsWhyNot is a Mod for 1.16.4 that consists of 14 new well thought out mobs to add some new content to minecraft, they have interesting mechanics and most interact with each other in some forum. You must remember though that this is just the start of a project that I plan to continue to update as it goes on, which means there will probably be 1-2 broken mechanics or bugs that I will fix in update 1.2.

The mod also consists of a few blocks and items that can make postgame minecraft very interesting, and easier. But you won’t get them easy, if you put in the work to get these incredible new items you can become a real force to reckon with. Let's start off with the most exciting part about the mod.. the Mobs!

  • Alligators

Alligators are the first creature to make the list and to be honest one of my favorites, they are animals that live in the swamp and will not fight unless prevoked which leads them to charging at you and ready to bite! They also drop Scales apon death which can make Tough Armor with a cool design and a nice bonus effect when worn.

  • BettaFish

BettaFish are a new kind of fish that are kind at heart and give special effects when touched or clicked. They spawn in oceans and drop cod but it is encouraged to not kill them.

  • MudLeach

These discusting creatures are swamp dwellers that live in the mud, they will attack at any chance they get but are weak. They spawn in packs and can spawn out of Filled Mud Blocks when broken. Their drops are themselves and when eaten fill 3 hunger bars raw but will give nausea for a short time.

  • Mummy

The Mummy is a creature that wil spawn in a small desert fortress. Their bones may be broken and walk in a strange form but do not underestimate these threats, they hit hard and call for help when needed. They drop gold when killed.

  • Scarecrow

Scarecrows are the first mob on this list that fight for the player. Once you craft a totem of defence, they will spawn and attack any mob in close enough range, there are great crop defenders and bouncers but their health isn’t very high. When they die they will drop the totem of defence which can be used again.

  • Abandoned Iron Golem

These kind creatures are lost golems with no village and looking for a home. They are beyond repair and aggressive to whoever is to threaten them but too weak to hit as hard as regular golems. They drop a rose apon death.

  • Box Jellyfish

Box Jellyfish are a new type of fish in the deep, they are luminescent and non-treatening but still dangerous, when touched you get a jellyfish sting that will last around 5 seconds but deal enough damage to scare you. You can take a bottle to them and milk them for Botteled Jelly which is a rather good food source if you have a decent seply of JellyFish And Bottels. When killed they drop Jelly which works the same as Botteled Jelly.

  • Beetle

Beetles are small blue critters that have a hard Exoskeleton inpenichrable by the bear fist. They drop their Exoskeleton which can be crafted into 4 bones per Exoskeleton.

  • Vampire Bat

Vampire Bats are a new type of bat from the nether that spawn in soul sand vallies, they will swope down and give you the Blood Loss effect that will quickly deal hearts then give slowness. Enough hits and you will die quickly from this beast. It drops a Vampire Tooth.

  • Crimson Snail

These kind creatures also spawn in the nether ecatinally on there own little islands floating in the.. Sky? Anyways, they are large and friendly but do drop Slime Blocks apon death, good farm idea for you redstone nerds, but are you ok with killing these gental giants?

  • Void Snails

These are distant Cosins of the Crimson Snails but colvered in less warts and live in the end instead of Crimson Forest. They also drop Slime Blocks but cause the levitate effect when you get too close.

  • MudMan

The MudMan is a species of un unknown origin that Lurks through the swamp, it’s much faster than the player and drops mud when killed which can be crafted into mud blocks

  • MothMan

Now we're getting onto the two bosses of the mod and also the second to last mob. The MothMan is an old erban legend about a Large, half man, half moth creature with glowing red eyes. We brought that monster to Minecraft as a new boss. It flies around a large hive where it is the only sign of life. If left alone it will take no interest in you but if you enter it’s lair and attempt to take its Tresure it will attack and show no mersy. It Will give you blindness as to hide from your sight but when you do kill it it will drop one of its red eyes and leave you to take it’s treasure filled with Gold, Emeralds, Even Dimands! Or whatever else it found to be shiny and decided to take for its pleasure.

  • LavaMonster

This Boss is similar to the MothMan in terms of it’s wealth, being underground its entire life it only found love in ores which lead to greed and now hordes all the ores it possibly can. It lives in deep lava pools with its treasure in the middle, be careful though! Building a bride over to its goods might lead you to a deadly fate with death and the LavaMonster. It drops a Lava Bucket apon death and imune to fire of course.

-Now let's get onto the blocks and items.

There is alligator armor and a scales block, if you're lucky you can find a leviathan tooth while fishing and you can use the VampireBat Teeth to Make Potions of BloodLoss. The Necrosword is a new weapon that deals 15 damage and when rightclicked in air will take a heart to give the player 5 seconds of strength. There are also Mud blocks And Filled Mud Blocks. And finally there are Fisheggs Blocks that when broken will release a eirey of fish.  All crafting recipes are in the images section.

There are a lot of things I have set up for a continuation of this mod and I am so excited to finally release this project of 9 months, please enjoy and let me know if you have any suggestions for the future.
