Description
Background
I was looking around for a Mjolnir mod because I really like the mythical hammer and wanted it in my game. After looking around and finding nothing I liked I decided to just do it myself. This is not a big mod nor is it planned to be, after all the main focus is just the hammer. Other random additions are included as well but I cannot be bothered to insert recipe images so just use JEI or something similar. If anyone has any suggestions don't be afraid to let me know and I will consider it but remember this was made using MCreator and I am not a coder meaning my options are limited.
-------------------------------------------------------
What is added and what are it's features?
-------------------------------------------------------
- Mjolnir (Obviously)
Mjolnir is capable of being thrown and called back and of course has lightning features. You can find it's keybinds in the miscellaneous tab. Also, the hammer is modeled after the one seen in God of War: Ragnarok.
Throwing Information:
You can use the hammer as a melee weapon or throw it using right click. The hammer will damage anything it is thrown at and will land on the ground and stay in the same spot until you go pick it up using right click or call it back using the V key. Unfortunately you cannot actually see it fly back to your hand (trust me I've tried many times to make it do that) but it does throw properly. There is a range on this, either when its out of render distance or over 1000 blocks away you cannot call it back. If it doesn't call back immediately don't panic, it might just be flying in an area that isn't loaded yet or falling in water/lava. When Mjolnir is thrown and lands on a block, depending what that block is will break. Some breakable blocks include ice, leaves, snow, glass, sculk, and other similar things. Also, it seems to break random things as well even though I haven't made it do that. I noticed it also breaks netherrack, stone, obsidian, and bedrock. I haven't checked what else it breaks so be careful throwing it around builds. Don't be too careful though, even though it will break bedrock it will in fact not break dirt or sand.
One last thing to note about throwing Mjolnir is that it is sometimes buggy.
The most important example of this is when throwing Mjolnir at an entities feet or the block below the entity, the hammer might disappear. I HAVE counteracted this though so don't worry too much about it, just be mindful. If you throw it at an entity's feet and it does not spawn on the ground and instead gets automatically called back to your hand, that means the hammer you threw vanished and you were given a new one. This "fix" has always worked for me but I will still advise you to throw the hammer at the entities torso or head as it will not vanish if you do that. Also, if Mjolnir is thrown into a block it should be fine for a good while, just don't leave it in a block until it suffocates because I have no idea what will happen if you do.
Mjolnir Abilities:
Pressing V
The V key will callback Mjolnir if it is on the ground but will do something different if you have it in your inventory. If you have Mjolnir in your inventory (note you do not need Mjolnir to be in your hand) pressing the V key will strike lightning not very far in front of you with a short cooldown. You have to point your cursor on the ground and at the blocks in front of you if you want it to be closer. Careful not to strike yourself with it though, it will damage you if you do.
Pressing Z
The Z Key will summon a wave of lightning in front of you if in your inventory, if it is on the ground however it will teleport you to it. The teleport feature has a range to it, I would tell you how far in blocks but I forgot so sorry about that. It's somewhere around 50-100 blocks though. The wave of lightning works the same as summoning a singular lightning bolt except it adds two more onto the end of it, this feature also has a moderate cooldown to it.
Pressing K
The K key will boost all of Mjolnir's abilities if you have it in your inventory, if it is on the ground however it will strike lightning on wherever Mjolnir is with a short cooldown. The "boost" effects all the other keybinds drastically for 20 seconds and has a long cooldown. The boost also makes you blessed with invulnerability to all threats, physical or magical. I am aware that this cooldown can be reset if you leave and rejoin a world but I can't be bothered to fix that. If you wanna reset it by doing that then be my guest.
Also, the boost is buggy. Be careful.
- Weather Machine
The Weather Machine is a craftable block that can change the weather to rain and back when it's right clicked. There is no cooldown on this so use it as you please, also, sometimes it just doesn't work. I have no idea why.
- Rope
It's rope. It works like you'd expect it too.
- Echo Heart
A useless item dropped by the Warden because seriously why doesn't the Warden have an actual drop?
- Long Stick
Long stick.
- Guardian Crystal
Has a chance to drop from the Elder Guardian. When the item is held it gives you Dolphin's Grace because why not.
- Health Boost Potions
It is what you think it is. Use JEI or something like that.
- Chainmail Armor Recipe
You can now use chains to make chainmail armor, congratulations.
- Experience Bottle Recipe
Stuff an emerald into a bottle, see what happens.
- Saddle Recipe
The leather helmet recipe but with an iron ingot. That is all.
Once again, I recommend you use JEI to get the recipes. Enjoy.
