Forest Tree
Currently In Alpha! Many features might not work well, report any bugs you find to the issue tracker!

mgui by mickelus and mixinbootstrap is a required dependency.
Introduction
This mod aims to add content about realistic forests and trees. It currently adds tree branch blocks and a tree designer that can be used to create custom saplings that will grow in various ways.
The trees in this mod are a partial port of trees from TFC+. Thanks for Dunkleosteus for letting me port his awesome trees to a modern minecraft version.
Making a tree by hand
Forest tree is currently a creative - only mod :(
When you take a look on JEI or the creative tab, you might notice there's a lot of blocks with missing item modelsthat have names like block.forest_tree.<tree type>_branch_0_-1_0. They will get item models and proper names on future updates. There's a total of 52 branch blocks for each wood type, two variants (normal and an 'end' branch) for the 26 directions the blocks can point towards. There's no difference between end branches and normal branches other than spruce end branches having a smol leaf on its tips right now.
They have an 'age' block state that you can control with the vanilla debug stick. Older branches will appear more thicker.
Using a grafting tool on the branch blocks will add more branches depending on where you're looking at.
There are no leaves blocks added by this mod, but I'm planning to add other subdivided leaf blocks like leaves stairs/slabs for more subtle trees.
Tree Generation
The tree generation in this mod is completely parametric. The mechanics of tree generation depends on 81 parameters.
You can use the tree designer to make custom saplings that generate these parametric trees.
The wiki has more information about the mechanism of tree generation. If you want to design your own tree using the tree designer block, you might want to read how it works.
In world tree gen replacement is not yet available, but probably in the future it will be possible.
Interactions with trees
- chopping a block of the tree will remove the entire branch. This works only in survival.
Planned Features
-World Generation
The mod does not add anything to world generation currently. In future versions, there will be an option to replace vanilla tree generation. The tree blocks can drop up to 3 log blocks, incentivising to cut down forests instead of growing your own trees from a sapling.
-Tree farming
Saplings will not generate thick trees. Only thin trees will grow from default saplings. There could be options to grow a bit taller tree, or to use existing tree stumps to re grow thick trees.
-Other features
Items related to forestry, or other forest related products might be added
