Make use of Fauthren ore found between 20-50. Slightly weaker than diamond but easier to find. The Fauthren pickaxe can mine obsidian.
Try to discover a vein of Mythium. Rarer than diamonds, they spawn anywhere under 50. If you are lucky enough to find 3 and make a pickaxe, efficiency 5 will provide instant mining of basic stone.
