EmeraldExtended Forge and Fabric (The Emerald Mod)
I realized that there wasn't an easy, lightweight version of the emerald mod for forge that added what I was looking for - just emerald armor and tools. Today, that changes!
This is EmeraldEx - the lightest weight emerald mod probably ever! (don't @ me)
It adds emerald armor and tools that are actually balanced - a little bit better than diamond, but with quite a bit less durability - so keep your eyes on that durability bar!

Can I make my own port of this mod?
This project is under the MIT license, so feel free to use my work as you like!
Can I use this mod in my modpack?
You can include this mod in any modpacks, you don't need to ask permission.
I have an issue/bug! Where do I put it?
Just leave it in the comments or on the Curse issue tracker. I'll get around to fixing it as soon as I have the time.
Will you bring this to older versions?
No. I'm planning to only support 1.15-1.16 and future versions as older versions would require major rewrites of code. Additionally, there are already emerald mods for older versions.
Fabric?
Short answer: no. I'm only familiar with forge, and fabric is quite a bit different. Also, there's a similar mod for fabric which can be found here:

How to Install
Download Forge & Java
Download Forge from the offical Site or here. If you dont have Java installed then install it now from here. After Downloading Forge you can run the file with Java.
Prepare
Lounch Minecraft and select your Forge istallation as Version this will create a Folder called Mods.
Add Mods
Type Win+R and type %appdata% and open the .minecraft Folder. There will you find your Folder called Mods. Place all Mods you want to play in this Folder
Enjoy
You are now Ready. Re-start your Game and start Playing.
