This mod allows you to craft
2 Cactus Slices out of a cactus, which can be smelted in a furnace to get 
1 Cooked Cactus Slice.
1 cooked slice restores 2 hunger poins and 1 saturation point,
after eating you also get nausea and get pricked for 1 point of damage
