Description

For 1.19, see Dynamic Music Updated (not run by me)

Dynamic Music. Adds adaptive music cues, and makes The End more musical! Goes well with Music Duration Reducer

This mod adds more music cues and controls to the base game. For a more detailed description, continue reading.

You can donate to my Patreon for exclusive perks, head there to learn more.

New Music Cues

Dynamic Music adds more music cues or more times where certain music can play. Whenever it is daytime, daytime music plays, whenever it is nighttime, nighttime music plays. When you're in a cave, cave music plays. When you're in cold biomes, cold music plays, and lastly, when you're in hot biomes, hot music plays.

The End

That's right! The End dimension has its own music! When you're in the end, it adds more boss music to the ender dragon fight, and, it adds more music to when you're in creative mode in The End!

General Music Changes

The closer the time is to nighttime (18000), the slower the music can play! This means if it's dead midnight, the music can play at half its pitch and speed (The values chosen are random, but that is the theoretical lower bound).

For ambience purposes, when you're in, around, or near a mineshaft, your mood value will increase faster.

Controls and Config

Everything in this mod you can turn on or off, or control its individual settings. To access/change this config, either download Mod Menu, click on the "Mods" button, find and click on Dynamic Music, and hit the config button in the top right corner, and change values accordingly. Or go into your Minecraft directory, then config, then find "dynamicmusic.json", and change the values in thereby opening the file in a text editor.

This mod is for 1.18.x

(Pseudo) FAQ

Will you move this to x.xx.xx version?

No.

Im not hearing any of the new music! Does it work on servers?

Yes, it does work on servers! This is a client-side mod, so the server does not need to acknowledge or care about if this is installed or not. If none of the tracks are playing it is because of user error or Minecraft glitch. Try checking the mods menu in forge, or downloading modmenu in fabric to see if it's actually installed. If it is, try turning your master volume to 0 and back, because when you set your music volume to 0 and back, it won't play.
