Description

This mod adds barrels that correspond to different dye colors.

The normal barrel is considered the brown barrel.

It will make your storage much more colorful and easy to tell what barrel has what in it at a glance, or even make barrels fit with your other decoration styles. Not every build will fit with brown barrels.

Examples:

1: Use the gray or dark gray barrels in a factory build! No more brown barrels sticking out like a sore thumb in your metal industrial complex

2: Use the black barrels in a nether-based build to make them seem burnt!

3: Use 5 different colors of barrels that don't fit anything purely because you’re a clown.

(idk i’m not very good at coming up with examples)

Crafting each barrel is very simple, just 1 barrel + 1 dye and you’re good to go

Other versions coming soon as well.

FAQ

Will there be a Fabric port?

Maybe? I would need to learn fabric first, which at the moment is not a priority. However, considering how little code is actually in this mod, if someone decides to port it before I get around to it, they may as long as they

A: Show me a working fabric version and ask me for permission to upload it

B: Credit Me in the page description and in the mod’s in-game description

C: Link back to this page on their mod page.

D: Give me their firstborn child and sacrifice 6 sheep in my name. (this one is obviously a joke)

I found an issue with the mod!

Great! Report it to my issue tracker at the top of the page! If you cannot find it, that’s okay (I sometimes miss things that are right in front of me too, I know the feeling), here is a link to it!

May I use your code as a way to learn or see how you did things?

Absolutely! The repository is up at the top of the page, and again, here is a link to it for those of you unfamiliar with where things are located on Curseforge!

Just please don’t be a jerk by stealing the whole mod and putting it into your own or rereleasing it. I will gut you like a fish. :)

1.X.X port plz

As I stared right above this FAQ’s header, I will make updates for other versions when I get around to it. Asking for it doesn’t make it come faster, and I will just ignore requests for versions.

I can’t dye a barrel from X Mod!

That would be because they haven’t tagged their barrels under the forge:barrels tag, which is what this mod’s recipe relies on.

Also on a related note, because of how the recipe works, please refrain from trying to dye barrels from Tfarecnim’s Metal Barrels mod, as it will essentially revert them back to wooden barrels and make you very very sad.

Is there a rainbow barrel in the mod like the one in the Icon?

No, because I only just now thought about it while writing this FAQ. Might add it at some point if I feel like it.

Where can I donate to you?

I don’t know why you would want to, I don’t think this mod is substantial enough to warrant donations. Once I make my bigger mod I have in the works I might consider it. This mod is tiny, so you enjoying it and having the same frustration for a lack of colorful barrels as I do is enough compensation for me. ^v^

Why are you posting an FAQ for a mod you only just uploaded?

Because I’m lazy and I know I’ll forget to/put off adding it later so sh.
