Description

Discs Where Discs Shouldn't Be
This mod adds 14 unique music discs to your game. Composed by Jacob Thomas, these discs were crafted to fit the Minecraft style while pushing the envelope on the original sound. You can check out every song on his SoundCloud! Along with the music discs, other musically inspired items such as whistles and sherds aim to increase interest in the archeology system.
Want the Music Without the Mod?
Check out the Resource Pack! Instead of adding all of the items and requiring every player on a server to install this mod to use it, the Resource Pack reskins most pre-existing music discs already in the game.
Compatibility
DWDSB currently integrates with three other mods. If you have a mod that you want to add compatibility for or any other questions about compatibility, join our Discord Server or reach out to @codewyrm!
- cat_jam adds unique dances for cats when around a Jukebox. Each music disc from DWDSB comes with its special jam, thoughtfully put together by the mod developer. Thanks @shmove!
- Music Notifications adds a toast whenever a music disc or other similar sound event plays. Each disc has its own icon that displays when the music disc is used in a Jukebox. Thanks @okkarin for helping with some of the more challenging discs!
- Arts & Crafts Compatibility adds a whole slew of interesting artistic items into the game. Using its compatibility mod, you can use any sherd from DWDSB with its colored pots. Huge thanks to kekecreations for adding compatibility on their side and helping with Sherd-related modding issues. Make sure to install its parent mod: Arts & Crafts!
Music Discs
DWDSB adds 14 unique music discs into your world. These discs are designed to fit seamlessly into the vanilla experience and give another tiny push to promote exploration. Just like the vanilla music discs, each disc has its own Comparator output (corresponding to its order in the albums) and auto insert/eject from Jukeboxes.
Craftable Discs
5 of the 14 discs are crafted using the Smithing table. Each disc requires an Disc Core, a Netherite Scrap, and the disc's associated materials.
- wave: Prismarine Shard
- lost: Echo Shard
- mirror: Amethyst Shard
- rain: Glow Berry
- ember: Netherite Ingot

Uncraftable Discs
9 of the 14 discs are uncraftable, obtained by adventuring to preexisting structures. They can be found in existing structures' chests, sometimes alongside Disc Cores.
- watched: Stronghold Library
- rest: End City
- alone: Abandoned Mineshaft
- bean: Jungle Temple
- lyre: Desert Pyramid
- star: Igloo
- rave: Illager Outposts
- waltz: Woodland Mansions
- sunset: Village Houses

Other Items
Alongside the music discs, this mod adds a few unique items that also push exploration. While the Music Disc Core is a crafting ingredient for the majority of the music discs, the whistles and sherds expand the collection of unique items found in archeology dig sites.
Disc Core
Resembling some form of rough diamond stone, these items are smooth to the touch with a glass-like surface. They can be found in the Overworld, Nether, and End, generating in existing vanilla structures. When combined with a certain item and Netherite Scrap as a binding agent, they fuse into a new disc!

Whistles
The Ancient Whistle is found in Trail Ruins, buried within Suspicious Gravel. A player can play the whistle by right-clicking on it, producing a familiar tune. Smithing an Ancient Whistle with a Copper Ingot and either an Amethyst Shard, Gold Ingot, Diamond, or Emerald produces an upgraded whistle, each with its own unique item and melody.

Sherds
Three musical sherds can be found across the Overworld. These sherds work just like the vanilla ones and can be combined to make decorative pots.
- Melody Pottery Sherd: Trail Ruins
- Record Pottery Sherd: Warm Ocean Ruins
- Solo Pottery Sherd: Cold Ocean Ruins

Advancements
DWDSB adds a page of new advancements. Can you collect all of the music discs, play all of the different types of note blocks, and collect every goat horn?
