Description

Has it ever bothered you that wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroots, pumpkins and watermelon all grow just as well in a blizzard or a desert as in a forest or on a plain? Crop Biome Limiter can make sure crops only grow in the biomes they're supposed to. This adds realism and gives the player an incentive to build multiple bases spread out over different biomes in order to have access to all crops.

The config file allows detailed customization of exactly which plants can grow where, and whether these lists affect bonemeal use or planting seeds.

This mod does affect crops added by other mods. Blocking seed placement is the most reliable, but it can also stop crop growth so long as the other mod did not remove the Forge event which triggers before a crop grows. You'll need to whitelist crops from other mods in this mod's config file, as unlisted crops are blocked by default.

You may add this mod to any modpack as long as you aren't charging money for the pack. I'd love to hear how you've used this mod in the comments. Pastebins of your custom configs that include other mod's crops would also be great.

Development TODO list:

  • Automatically add all crops from other mods to the medium/lush biome by default so they aren't just universally blocked.
  • Add system for custom biome types. This will probably be temperature and rainfall based.
  • Improve default configs to include settings for popular mods like Pam's Harvestcraft and Biomes'o'Plenty
