Description

Compendium returns.

(Temporary Description)

Attention! Alpha!

This is an alpha, while I've done my best to check over everything there may be bugs left over that I didn't see and could be game breaking, do not put this in a world you like.

Content:

Workstations:

  • Workbench
    • An expanded crafting table that involves crafting steps and tool use. Eventually will accept upgrades to make the grid bigger and allow for more involved crafts.
  • Hammering Station
    • For crushing things! Put things in and smash them with a hammer to get smaller things out, cobble to gravel, gravel to sand, etc.
  • Saw Buck
    • For cutting wood into smaller wood. Turns logs into small logs, and small logs into planks.
  • Scrapping Table
    • A reverse crafting table, does its best to reverse any recipes from the crafting table or workbench. (Could be broken in what it returns)
  • Cosmetic Toolbox
    • Lets you change the style of almost all the blocks in the mod to a rediculous degree. Some blocks even let you change the style of specific portions of the block. Can be used directly on an already placed block, or you can place the toolbox down, allowing you to alter an entire stack of items at once.

Tools:

  • Hammer
    • Mines in a 3x3 radius
    • If held in your offhand and right clicked on normal stone it will carve out a monolith stone.
  • Saw
    • Can be used like an axe.
    • If held in your main hand and right clicked on a log it will strip it
    • If held in your offhand and right clicked on a tree it will bring down the entire tree (subject to change)
  • Zweihander
    • A big sword!
    • As long as you don't have anything in your offhand it can do a great swing on right click, hitting all enemies around you for a small amount of damage, but dealing knockback to give you some breathing room.
  • Prybar
    • Currently only used in the scrapping table, more features to come!
  • Crude Tools
    • Simple tools to get you started, they do not have their bigger abilities like their better made cousins.

Index:

A big system of Compendium is the index. The index allows you to turn on and off specific items/blocks as well as add in or remove materials from it via jsons. These materials can then be used in other parts of the mod and will also have parts generated for all blocks that use materials. Say you add a new wood type, you can simply provide the jsons and graphics (graphics will hopefully be autogenerated in the future) and the system sets up the rest.

  • Currently materials used from vanilla are:
    • Metal
      • Iron
      • Copper
      • Gold
      • Netherite
    • Wood
      • Oak
      • Spruce
      • Acacia
      • Jungle
      • Birch
      • Cherry
      • Dark Oak
      • Crimson
      • Warped
      • Mangrove
    • Textiles
      • Wool (All 16)
    • Glass
      • All 16
  • Current Blocks that use Index Materials
    • Chair
      • 3 Materials (Back, Seat, Legs)
    • Window
      • 2 Materials (Glass, Trim)
    • Bed
      • 6 Materials (Base, Frame, Mattress, Sheet, Blanket, Pillow)
    • Table
      • 2 Materials (Top, Legs)
    • Clothed Table
      • 3 Materials (Cloth, Top, Legs)
    • Fence
      • 2 Materials (Post, Sides)
    • Shingles and Shingles Cap
      • 2 Materials (Shingles, Support)

Other things of note:

  • Tool Rack / Component Drawers
    • Holds tools/components, when you reach a step in a recipe that calls for an item on one of these it will automatically be warped to your hand, you have to put it back yourself though.
  • Monolith stone
    • Presently doesn't do anything other than serve as a stone storage block.

An ever growing expansion for Tinkers' Construct.

Current Features list:

Tools:

Buckler:

A small shield designed to deflect and counter. Cheap to make but can't hold many modifiers due to its size.

Heater Shield:

A middle of the road shield. Blocks all projectiles and reduces incoming damage by a percentage.

Tower Shield

Very large, very heavy. Obstructs your view and makes you slow but blocks most incoming damage. Lots of space for modifiers.

Zweihander:

A large two handed sword made to take down mounted enemies. Has a wider swing compared to the broadsword but recharges slower.

Shears:

Shear sheep, cut leaves, mow the lawn. Everything the vanilla ones can do with less exploding into nonexistance.

Cloth Gear:

Basic gear with no protection, very accepting of magical modifiers and has the highest potency when casting (Requires other magical mods to function beyond cosmetic currently).

Heavy Armor:

Highest protection armor (Diamond+) with lowest magical potential (25%).

Upcoming Features:

Fishing pole - Cause tools that break are annoying.

Uncomfortable amounts of modifiers - Choices are good!

Mod Compat - Other mods should modify your tools too!

Baubles - Add in new effects or even socket in other mods baubles too!

Modifier Evolution - Your tool will grow with you!

Known Issues:

  • Can have conflicting material issues with MoarTIC and PlusTIC. Until I make a fix you'll have to choose between them and mine.
A blacklist is now included in the configs to solve this issue.
  • Some materials still need stats.
  • Shields don't appear to be held up. They still work just not visually.
  • The config file doesn't work. Still banging on that one.
  • If something doesn't have a name or texture, chances are pretty high it's unfinished and could set your dog on fire, play with at your own risk.
