Description

Boring Tweaks

NOTE: This mod has been abandoned. The 1.16 versions are the last ones. I've decided that because compared to other mods of mine, it has been, well, boring to work on Boring Tweaks. The sound slider options will probably be revisited later, but the mod itself is dead.

This is a mod that adds a small collection of tweaks that have something in common between them: they are all client-sided. They can be tweaks that does noticeable tweaks or ones that are really minor but that can be good to have. All the tweaks are toggleable and some are configurable.

As of 1.0.0, this mod runs on Minecraft 1.16.2+ and requires the Fabric API. Boring Tweaks' config screen can be accessed through Mod Menu, but if you prefer the text editor, the config file can be found at .minecraft/config/boringtweaks.json5

Currently, these are the tweaks:

  • Reduce Volume While Away: This tweak reduces the volume while the window is unfocused. The percentage is configurable.
  • Smooth Day Cycle: This tweaks adds smooth transitions between the sun/moon's movement, getting rid of sudden changes. The smooth divisor is configurable.
  • Noisy Sound Sliders: This makes the sliders in the "Sound and Music Settings" menu make the click sound if moved. By default, it only makes noise every 10%, but it can be adjusted in the settings.
  • Dynamic Sound Slider Noise: This makes the sound from the sliders in the "Sound and Music Settings" menu more quiet the closer to 0 it is
  • Bigger Baby Villager Head: This makes baby villagers have a bigger head, similar to Bedrock. The scale can be changed in the settings.
  • Fix Baby Hat Layer: This tweak fixes mobs like Baby Zombies and Baby Zombie Pigmen pre-redesign not having their hat layer adjusted to their sizes. Currently, it's only useful for resource packs.
  • Shadowed Debug HUD: This tweaks makes the text in the debug HUD (displayed with F3) have shadows, similar to Forge.
  • Strider Easter Egg: An easter egg is an easter egg, go find it yourself.
