Technology- and exploration-focused mod based on the popular game franchise, Bloons.
Using JEI is highly recommended for this mod.
Radioactive is recommended, but optional [Only for 1.11.0+].

Bloon targeting priority is fastest to slowest, as faster Bloons pose a larger threat. The closest of these is then targeted.
"Upgrades" here are not applied to the original, but rather are variants that behave differently, in a way that improves the tower in some form.
Dartling Gun
Sentries
Dart Monkey
Banana Farms: up to BTD6 Tier 2s, plus Marketplace
For weapons using the 'new ammo system' (indicated with [N]), ammunition must be manually loaded. This is done by sneak-using the weapon in mainhand with the ammunition you wish to load in the offhand. Ammo type can only be changed if the weapon is empty.

Uses Radioactive for some blocks/items
This mod will not be updated to anything above 1.20.1, since some of the plugins I use are now discontinued.
I'm working on a remake for 1.21.8, but this will take some time, as it's a large mod.
Some recipes are shown in the Images section, the rest in JEI and the in-game Minecraft Recipe Book.
These tutorials assume the latest Bloons mod version.
The first material you will need for the mod is Iron Ingots. You're going to need a lot of these later, so stock up on them. Once you have these, you can then craft Darts or Tacks to pop the bloons from long range. Also craft a few Iron Tubes for later use. Use the recipe book or JEI to find the recipes for these.
Please note that conventional Minecraft weapons work on Bloons too.
Now, to get a weapon. The first actual weapon in the mod is the Dart Gun, crafted with 2 Iron Gun Barrels, 1 Redstone Dust and 1 Iron Ingot. Again, use the recipe book or JEI to find the recipes for this.
You will need ammunition for the dart gun, so craft more Darts to use as ammo. The gun works in the same way as a bow, so you only need the darts in your inventory to use the gun.
If this is your first time playing, or if you find it hard, I would suggest turning the Multilayer option on. This makes normal Minecraft weapons more effective against Bloons by allowing them to pop multiple layers at once.
Once you have this, you can start on getting better tools and armour. You're going to need it.
Since Darts and Tacks do not work on Lead Bloons, you will need to craft some kind of weapon for that, whether it is a sword, a Fire Tack (obtained by smelting a normal tack in a furnace), or something else.
Once you find and pop these bloons, you will get Bloon Lead Ingots, the main crafting material for this mod's weapons.
Using these you can craft more advanced weapons and upgrades, like the Shotgun, or the Sniper Rifle, detailed in the next section.
After that, you may want to continue with the technology and weapons development or go and explore, try to find the Bloon Structures, which contain Bloon-related loot.
[ Warning: a LOT of crafting ahead! Install JEI if you don't want to lose your mind figuring out and remembering crafting recipes. ]
After adventuring for a while, you may find you prefer to use longer range weapons. Fortunately, the mod provides many such weapons, including a Sniper Rifle.
The Sniper Rifle is a more advanced weapon, requiring:
Once crafted, you will need Bullets as ammunition. There are more than 8 different types, but try starting with the Iron or Lead Bullets. To craft these, you will need an Electric Press. This is crafted with:
To get a Piston, you will need:
And Machine Casing is made with:
Copper Coils are crafted with 8 Copper Wires around an Iron Bar.
Copper Wires are made in the crafting table, 3 ingots in a line yields 16.
An Iron Bar is made with 3 Iron Pellets in a vertical line.
See why JEI is recommended?
The Press will need 3 things: 2 items to craft with, and a battery for energy.
Batteries are items used for storing energy, and have several tiers. The first tier, which is used here, is crafted with:
Later tiers store more energy, but require materials such as Gold Plates and blimp Propellers.
Batteries can be charged in many ways, but a Solar Charger is the cheapest. This is crafted with a Charger and a Photovoltaic Cell. The cell is crafted with:
and the Charger is crafted with:
Place this down during the day, in a position where it can see the sky. It will passively generate energy, passing it into a battery in its battery slot. The actual amount generated varies based on light level (15 gives ~60 energy/s)
To make an Iron Bullet, place a Gunpowder in the bottom slot, an Iron Pellet in the top slot, and a battery with at least 250 energy into the battery slot, and wait for the operation to complete. This will partially drain the battery, and yield 8 bullets.
To load these into the gun, hold the bullets in your offhand, the gun in your main hand, sneak and use (usually the right or secondary mouse button).
Now, the gun can be fired.
Different bullets have different effects, so I recommend trying them out. For example, the Purple Bullet has a homing effect, and the Fusion Alloy Bullet is not affected by gravity. These others can be made by using a different pellet in the top slot, except for the Purple Bullet, which uses Purple Rubber.
Loading the gun manually can be tedious, but fortunately, the Belt Autoloader exists! It will automatically replace used ammunition, but only if the weapon and the autoloader have the same ammunition inside them.
It's crafted with:
Motors are crafted with an Iron Tube, a Copper Ring Coil and a undefinedCopper Coil. 4 Copper coils in a circle makes 2 Copper Ring Coils.
Right-click with the autoloader to open its GUI, which has only one slot - the ammo to load.
Press the 'Open Special Slots' keybinding (default F4) and place it in the 'Belt' slot. Close the GUI, and the autoloader will immediately be ready for use.
Custom Rounds are a way of storing many Bloons in a single item, and releasing them with specific timings.
They require a Custom Round Editor to make, and an Inflator to use.
The Editor is a handheld tool used to fill a Custom Round Storage with Bloons. A storage item is made in the press with an Iron Nugget and a Lead Pellet. These items are single-use, so use them wisely.
The Editor itself is made with 1 of each of these:
and 4 Ceramic Capacitors.
A Screen is crafted with a Lead Plate, a Glass block and a Battery (Fully charged).
An Improved battery can hold 10000 energy, and is crafted with:
Note: stored energy is not carried over during a battery upgrade, it is recommended to use newly crafted or otherwise empty batteries in crafting, as the charge doesn't matter.
All plates are made in the press with their respective ingots, and a blank top slot.
Ceramic Capacitors are crafted with:
which yields 4 capacitors.
Open the Editor's GUI by right-clicking, and place your Bloons into the left slot. Place an empty round container into the slot with the outline of one, and add a spacing in the text box. Then, as long as there are no errors (See Images section for visual info), press the 'Save' button, and remove your filled round. The tooltip tells you what's inside, which is helpful when distinguishing between rounds.
There are 3 tiers of Inflator, each one adding another slot to add a round to.
The first tier of Inflator is crafted with:
A Directional Inflator, which can be placed facing any direction is crafted similarly, but sideways.
and with an Improved Battery (Fully charged) in place of a Propeller
Circuits and Capacitors are used in almost every single energy or Data block, so make sure you have a lot of these. Normal Circuits are crafted with:
Fully charged batteries are common in recipes too.
Transistors are used extensively in circuit crafting, and are made with:
yielding 4.
Circuit Bases are made with a Bloon Lead Pellet, 1 Fiberglass Bar and either a Green Dye (for a normal base) or 1 Yellow and 1 Brown Dye (for an interface one) For this, you will want the normal base. Each craft makes 3.
Fiberglass Bars are made in the Stonecutter - 1 glass block makes 1 bar.
Each slot of an Inflator has its own delay box, and error bar (see Images for more info). Place your round(s) into the slot(s) and input delays. Press 'Inflate' and run, as when the timer runs out, the Bloons will start being expelled with force.
If you find crafting a lot of intermediary items annoying, or don't feel like mining for resources, there is another option. By exploring the world, different structures can be found containing loot in the form of loot crates or loot blocks, which can be opened/broken to reveal useful items. These empty crates can even be recycled back into their materials, which can then be re-used.
Bloons mod release (displayed) versions were several versions behind development versions. If your file said '1.6.0', it was actually curseforge release 1.2.0.
I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused, and I have updated the displayed versions to match development ones.
This will result in version gaps, which are, unfortunately, unavoidable.
With this change, the version numbers on features will have to be removed, as the gaps could cause too much confusion, and it is very difficult to pinpoint exactly when a feature was added in development versions.
