Your ideas help shape the future of BITE! 🩸
Please take a moment to fill out the feedback form — every suggestion matters. I, the developer, am deeply grateful for each submission and personally take the time to read, reflect, and consider every piece of feedback to make the mod even better.
Due to community requests, BITE now has a small Wiki on GitHub that explains all core mechanics — from nutrition and temperature to the new season system. Check it out to learn how to survive longer… or at least die smarter.
Think you’ve mastered survival? BITE redefines it. This mod turns Minecraft into a brutal, evolving struggle where your body, your hunger, and even nature itself are against you.
You start weak — just one heart and one hunger bar. The world is unforgiving, and your only goal is to earn your right to survive.
Fire Protection synergy: Implemented a heat-gain multiplier reduction that scales with Fire Protection level per armor piece. Higher enchant levels = stronger resistance to heat buildup.
New Enchantment: Cold Protection Works like Fire Protection, but against cold—reduces cold buildup/damage, scaling with enchant level per armor piece.
The world now shifts through harsh, survival-focused seasons that affect weather, terrain, plants, and visuals.
Freezing Biomes: When a biome gets cold enough, it freezes:
Water turns to ice.
Rain becomes snow.
Plants can freeze and die, but may sprout again in spring.
Heat & Drought: In very hot conditions, plants can wither and die.
Biome Colors: Foliage/grass/water tint changes with the season, giving each region a distinct seasonal look.
Year Length: An in-game year lasts 91 days (balanced for progression and performance).
Command: /season — view or set the current season (admin/OP only; supports direct selection and cycling).
The environment now fights back. Temperature isn’t just a detail anymore — it’s life and death.
Two new damage sources have been added:
Survival now depends on adapting to your surroundings — the desert burns, the tundra freezes, and both can kill you.
Getting wet is no longer harmless.
Stay warm. Stay dry. Stay alive.
Water isn’t just decoration anymore — it’s life.
Added a new “Thirsty” status effect.
Causes dehydration symptoms.
Reminds you to stay hydrated — or pay the price.
Survival is no longer about filling a hunger bar — it’s about maintaining your body. Four nutritional stats now control you:
Your nutrition and hydration scale with your level — the stronger you get, the more your body demands.
The undead now ride.
Zombie Horses and Skeleton Horses spawn as aggressive mobs.
Their size and strength vary, creating unpredictable encounters.
They burn in sunlight, like normal zombies — but at night, they’re ruthless hunters.
Even open fields are no longer safe.
The world has grown cruel — and even animals aren’t spared. Hostile mobs now attack and kill passive creatures such as pigs, sheep, and cows. The ecosystem has changed — you’re no longer at the top of the food chain.
Expect to find fewer animals, more corpses, and the sense that the world itself is trying to collapse.
Because Minecraft became too comfortable. BITE brings back what survival should feel like — desperate, brutal, and rewarding. Every breath, bite, and battle matters.
Because it’s too easy… until the weather kills you. 🩸
